The onslaught of doctored and photoshopped photographs of celebrities and your friends alike on your various social media channels, regardless of how long you spend on such websites, will be taking a toll on your confidence, even if you have not noticed it.

However, finally, the world is waking up to the fact that, firstly, the images you see are not real, and secondly, that appearance is one of the least important aspects of a person. If you are currently, likely through no fault of your own and much more likely, through societal pressure, feeling unconfident in how you look, then continue reading.

Block Negative People

Unfortunately, you may find yourself in a professional, or indeed a personal, situation whereby you are unable to eliminate a person in your life who seems to only bring you down and spread their toxic negativity to everyone they meet.

However, as much as possible, in your quest to build your confidence levels and to start to enjoy life more, blocking negativity from such people will certainly help you and, as such, you should make this a top priority.

Start Taking Risks

Breaking out of your comfort zone is much harder to do than it is to say, but your confidence levels are unlikely to drastically increase unless you start pushing yourself to be braver in your everyday life.

Becoming a risk-taker certainly does not mean you need to start jumping out of aeroplanes and hiking to the top of Mount Everest, but rather, relates to saying yes much more than you are currently doing and experiencing and trying new things.

Dress to Make an Impression

Contrary to what the fashion houses across the world like you to think, how you dress and the clothing items and accessories you choose are all to do with making you feel great, not to impress or entice other people.

Regardless of your body size, for example, if you are carrying a little extra weight and are looking for some stunning pieces of plus size designer clothing, or else feel as if you have no curves to speak of and are looking for a dress to give you some shape, dressing for confidence is a real thing and it works.

Encourage Your Creative Streak

Another huge way to start becoming more comfortable and confident in yourself is to be more creative in terms of any hobbies or past times you currently enjoy, and in everyday activities, such as cooking meals for you and your family.

Allow yourself the time and space to promote creativity, be that in solo ventures or else as part of a group and try and break out of the rules set out by that thing. For example, instead of choosing a paint-by-numbers kit when wanting to paint, treat yourself to a blank white canvas and some shiny new paints. Let yourself follow your instincts as to what to paint and trust that what you produce is worth the time you spend.
