Wiring and internal communications
Once the foundation has been restored, the walls repaired, and the roof renewed, it is necessary to deal with internal communications. The first thing you should start with is to check (or better yet, change) the wiring. Of course, the inspection and installation should be entrusted to a professional electrician.
Wiring must be given maximum attention. Old wiring in the wooden house is a time bomb. It will not allow you to use all the necessary electrical appliances, but that’s not the worst thing. At any time there can be a short circuit, the consequences of which can be most disastrous.
The same applies to other communications, the old house is an old rusty pipes, which is better to change immediately with modern plastic ones. This applies to the water supply and sewerage.
Installation of the heating system
As soon as the remodeling of the old house is finished, you can begin to carry out reconstruction work aimed at improving the comfort of living in it.
Heating utilities are mandatory for dachas, of course, are not considered. However, many owners of garden cottages today still install such systems. In the presence of the heating network to be in the dacha in the off-season will, of course, much more comfortable.
In most cases, the most simple single-pipe system is assembled at dachas. The choice of bathroom plumbing fixtures depends on the size of the bathroom. In this case, gas heating units are used. The main advantage of one-pipe heating systems is the ease of assembly and cheapness. The disadvantage of networks of this type is the uneven heating of the batteries. However, since the dachas in most cases have a small area, the latter drawback for them can be considered irrelevant. Too big a loop in this case, the water heated in the boiler does not make. Accordingly, and the variation in the heating of batteries in such structures is not particularly large. In addition, to adjust the microclimate in the house in this case, you can use special plumbing fittings.
Radiators in dachas when assembling a heating system are usually connected by a saddle method, and the pipes themselves are laid under the floor. Sometimes, when installing such networks in garden houses, the circulation pump is not even used. In this case, large-section pipes are laid in the building, the coolant through which moves under the action of gravity
How to rebuild an old garden house: expansion of the area
When performing the reconstruction to the garden structures, among other things, various kinds of additional structures can be joined. Thus, the owners of country plots increase the usable area of their property. To the cottages in different cases can be attached as a blank structures with full walls, and open verandas.
Material for the assembly of such structures is chosen in accordance with what was built itself dacha. But sometimes “heavy” houses made of brick or blocks, are joined and lighter panel extensions or porches.
Overhaul of an old house
In addition to the two basic tasks mentioned above, repairs to an old home include:
- replacement of doors and windows
- repair or complete replacement of the roof
- renovation of the facade of the building (if necessary – its strengthening and thermal insulation)
- replacement of internal electrical wiring
- arranging and insulating the attic space
- cosmetic repairs
Do not forget that the external appearance of the renovated house will increase the value and should be fully combined not only with the surrounding landscape, but also the interior decoration of the premises.
If you want to get high-quality and reliable result, remember the main rule – all the work should be performed in strict accordance with the pre-designed plan, which takes into account all possible changes.
Remodeling an old private home involves changing the location of interior walls. Before you start demolishing the old wall, you should carefully study the features of the existing structures, as each of them is responsible for different functions. For example, ordinary interior partitions can be demolished, but capital walls may not be demolished, as they affect the stability of the entire structure.
When equipping new interior partitions, try to use only modern building materials that are designed just for such work. An excellent option would be frame structures that are filled with mineral wool and covered with gypsum board.
Is insulation with mineral wool and polystyrene boards, followed by cladding siding. The process is not accompanied by any special difficulties, and a wide range of siding panels allows you to translate into reality virtually any design solutions. For example, vinyl siding, without increasing the load on the foundation, allows you to completely change the appearance of the facade of the building.
