Worshiping Lord Hanuman can be done in two very popular ways trusted by millions of devotees of Maha Bajrangabali. One of them reads aloud the Hanuman Chalisa and the other explains the way of  Hanuman Sunderkand Path or the way of the Ramayana version compiled by St. Tulsidas – called SriRamCharitamanas – an epic poem in the Awadhi language composed in the 16th century, the Indian bhakti poet Goswami. Tulsidas (circa 1532-1623).

The Sundarkand records Hanuman’s greatness and victory in whatever he sets out to accomplish.

Reading Hanuman Sundarkand Path inspires confidence in the reader.

The greatest gain or advantage of reading Hanuman Sundakand Path is that it not only brings the blessings of Hanuman but also those of Lord Shri Ram.

Devotees swear that they have reaped the benefits and blessings of Hanumanji after religiously reading the Hanuman Sundarkand Path.

Devotees believe that reading Sundar Kand on Tuesday or Saturday, the two days considered auspicious by devotees of Hanuman, brings the greatest blessings.

Sundar Kand path (reading) clears the house of negative energies and evil presences, if any.

Devotees believe that reading Sundar Kand helps to avoid any disaster that comes your way and nullifies the negative influences of “evil” planets like Rahu, Ketu, etc.

Those who fear evil spirits in various forms also find solace in Sundar Kand.

How to read the Sundar Kand:

Although Tuesday (Mangalwar) or Saturday (Shaniwar) are designated for Hanumanji and Sundar Kand Path, any day of the week is fine if you want to read Sundar Kand.

As with all Hindu worship rituals (sanatan), it is important to wash and change into clean, fresh clothes.

Then place an image of Hanuman on a small square stool (chauki), either in your home or at a nearby temple.

sitting on a clean aasan (seat) which is lower than the chauki.

Now offer flowers, tilak, sandalwood, etc. to Hanuman. Light a lamp with pure ghee.

Start now with the Sundar Kand Path. After Path Pathan, do Aarti and offer Bhog or Prasad. Be sure to share the prasad with as many people as possible. In these days of social distancing and confinement, you may only find your immediate family to share Prasad with, but pray for your heart’s desire and trust that Pavan Putra will soon resolve all issues.
