Dhoop is derived from the name of a tree native to eastern India named Dhoop. When these trees’ chips are burned, they emit a lovely scent. Dhoop or Dhoopbatti is not the same as Agarbatti or incense stick. They differ even in terms of physical appearance. Dhoop is a paste with a little moisture in it, whereas Incense is dry and available as a dhoop sticks.
The essential oils of many leaves, such as Cymbopogon nardus (Citronella), Cymbopogon citratus (Lemongrass), Ocimum basilicum (Sweet Basil), Ocimum sanctum (Tulsi), Ocimum americanum (Hairy Basil), Eucalyptus citriodora (Eucalyptus), Eucalyptus globulus (Eucalyptus), The extracts of Azadirachta indica (Neem) seeds are insect repellents and help to purify the environment.
