UK Government eases COVID-19 curbs in the country. No need for masks in closed spaces and Covid passes are not mandatory from February 11 in the country. The government said that it was the first time after Christmas that they are removing coronavirus restrictions and rules. On Thursday, PM said that it is time to return to Plan A and end Plan B, as the Omicron and coronavirus cases are decreasing.

In the last two weeks, the number of infections is going down in the UK. In addition, the cases are fallen sharply and hospital admissions are decreasing too. The official data suggests the Omicron wave is going lower every day.

Due to the increase in the cases of Omicron and spike in infections, the UK government switched to Plan B on December 8. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the tidal wave of coronavirus in the last month.

In Plan B, wearing face masks in closed spaces and Covid passes were mandatory in the nightclubs, pubs and other events.

Now, the data says that more than 35 million people had their booster jabs in the arms in the UK. The cases are going down and more than millions of people are in support of lifting the restrictions in the country.

Travel News

In addition, the Gov.UK website published that vaccinated Travelers can visit the country now. They do not need per-departure and post-arrival tests to visit the UK. From February 11, Travelers who had both doses of the vaccines on the approved list can travel to UK. They only need a PLF – Passenger Locator Form while traveling in the UK.

For vaccinated Travelers, the rules will be eased too. They only need a per-departure test and PCR test maximum 2 days before arriving in the UK. For outbound travel, the NHS will provide a COVID pass to Children aged 12-15 as vaccination proof.

After the success of the booster programme in the UK, more than 37 million people had their booster shots; the government is planning to open for Traveler.

The travel and hospitality sector welcomed the announcement on January 24 by the government. Easing travel restrictions can boost tourism in the country and play a key role in the economy too.
