I belong to a Marwari family. For generations, our family has been involved in the trading business. Today while we don’t stay under one roof, we are very close and meet quite often. My cousins are based in the countryside and manage the procurement part while I am based in Ahmedabad and manage the sales part of the business. Since my father is also active, we both manage our business affairs jointly.
Until recently, we had a hatchback that suited our needs perfectly. But when I got married, I suggested that we should move on to a 7-seater because it would be difficult for all of us to manage in the hatch with our luggage whenever we go to our village, which is almost every month!
While my father agreed with my thought, he wasn’t sure about the cost of a 7-seater. That’s when I told him about the limited edition Renault Triber’s price range. He flatly refused to believe that a 7-seater, with the features I had elaborated, came in that range and hence asked for a test drive of the new limited edition Triber.
The car arrived at the designated time and more than me, my father was keen to check it out, so I decided to take a step back and let him continue with his examination.
The Triber that came to us was a Moonlight Silver and black roof dual tone Triber. He stood near the car and kept rolling his fingers over the car’s body. First, he saw the triple edge chrome grille, then he appreciated the stylish roof rails, then the SUV styled skid plates, next the LED turn indicators on ORVMs, the eagle beak-shaped tail lamps and the projector headlamps with LED DRLs. Once he was done observing the exteriors, he demanded to see the car from inside.
The first thing he noticed was that the car was indeed quite roomy and could easily accommodate 7 people. Then he took over the driver’s seat and was left amazed with the 6-way adjustments that he could do with it. The LED instrument cluster and 20.32 cm touchscreen were the next to catch his eye. Further, he fiddled with the push start-stop button and the steering mounted controls. That was the time I finally saw a brief smile on his face. He seemed happy with what he saw.
But the real smile came out when the representative explained to him about the modular seating arrangement. He was left in awe of what he saw! Within seconds, the car could be converted into a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7-seater! That was the last straw for him.
My father began with a question in mind – how can a 7-seater be a sub-4-metre car? But when he saw it right in front of his eyes, he was convinced.
Not to be left behind, I joined the conversation and elaborated the safety features of the car. I told him that the Renault Triber came with 4-airbags, a reverse parking camera, high ground clearance of 182 mm and more importantly, a 4-star adult safety rating and 3-star children safety rating on Global NCAP.
When he heard it all, he finally turned back and asked me just one question – how much?
When I told him that Renault Triber Limited Edition’s price starts at just Rs. 7.24 lakh* (Ex. Showroom Delhi), he was overjoyed and instantly whipped out his chequebook!
Today, Triber is not just the most loved member of our family, but also the most trusted partner whenever we travel out of town!
