Rimless Toilet
It is one of the latest trends: the rimless toilet ensures a level of hygiene like no other existing alternative.
The rim is the curved edge of the toilet from which the jets of water come out. The one that is so difficult to clean and for which “duck beak” gels were invented in order to reach it better.
A den of bacteria and limescale, the rim until now was necessary to be able to flush the toilet but today there are rimless toilet models where the water is conveyed along the grooves that follow the perimeter of the bowl.
Much easier to clean, as well as quieter than the traditional system.
Toilet with integrated bidet jet:
You know them for sure by hearsay but I’m sure you’ve never had one. These toilets became famous as “the Japanese toilet” (also called washlet) and over time they spread first in the USA and then also in Italy.
Japanese toilets are more technological than ours with integrated bidet jet, they have buttons that can direct the water jet to the point to be rinsed based on the function we have performed and can have numerous other functions (including music) and types of jet delivered .
I w.c. with integrated bidet that we can find in Italy, on the other hand, they are equipped with one or more holes from which the jet is emitted, only on the back of the cup or even on the front.
In other cases, however, there is a small fountain with spray that comes out of the cup and re-enters at the end of the jet.
As an alternative to these models, there is the possibility of adapting your toilet with jet toilet seats.
Thanks to a remote control or integrated controls, after using the toilet the cover emits a spray of water from a hole or from a small fountain on the back of the board.
They are interesting solutions for those who do not have a functioning bidet at home and very useful for limiting the use of toilet paper.
Chemical Water:
In all those situations in which a connection to the sewer drain is not possible, the chemical toilet takes care of it.
If in public spaces, on construction sites or during concerts we can count on portable cabins, which also work chemically, the same principle can be used in camping, on campers or in a holiday home without connection (a cabin, for example).
Do what we have to do while sitting on a toilet. instead of crouching next to a pine it’s definitely more comfortable – and privacy is just as important!
How does a chemical Toilet work?
A w.c. chemical consists of two overlapping parts:
The top is in all respects the same as a traditional toilet, with a seat to sit on and a small basin of clean water to rinse.
The lower part is a container for the collection of hygienic waste in which chemical products that dissolve them have been previously poured.
The two parts can be separated quite easily and the lower part will then be emptied into a normal toilet.
It is possible to use a toilet chemical in the house instead of a normal toilet?
Anything is possible but keep in mind that it requires a lot of work, you will need to equip yourself with chemicals (a cost) and have a sewer drain available in which to empty your waste regularly.
It can be fine as a temporary solution or for a home where you only spend a few weeks a year. In particular, if it is a family home, only use a toilet. chemist can be really too laborious.
Toilet for the Disabled:
- If there is a disabled person or an elderly person in the family, or if you have a public place and you need a bathroom in line with the requirements for the disabled, you will need to look for a suitable toilet.
- The toilets for the disabled have a seat with a depression, a front opening that facilitates use in case of engine difficulties.
- Obviously there are also toilet seats of the same shape.
- These models exist both with floor and wall drain.
Turkish Water:
Typical of very, very old public places, offices or homes, the squat toilet is definitely not the glamorous option we would like in the bathroom, and it is not very comfortable to use either.
What does the Turkish toilet consist of?
It is a typically ceramic sanitary element with a hole in the center and two non-slip side plates that clearly indicate where to put your feet.
We will not sit but crouch, which can be an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time.
If on the one hand it can be considered more hygienic given that (especially when used in public places with high turnout, such as airports or stations) no part of the body comes into direct contact with the healthcare professional, on the other hand we have too often seen it reduced to a state of unacceptable, with the manure clearly visible on the ceramic, the dirt stains on the shoes of those who walked through it, and I prefer to stop here.
Although it is still widespread, it is considered by most to be uncomfortable and antiquated, usable only in situations dictated by need.
Toilet with equipped wall:
Another option for people with disabilities or the elderly, particularly widespread in facilities.
In this model of toilet there is a large column where there is a hand shower. In addition to a facilitated session, the person has the opportunity to rinse themselves after having finished using the toilet, either independently or with the help of an assistant. Tips to find the water leakage in your home.
Children’s toilet:
The toilet bowls for children are models in all respects identical to the classic spaced model but of reduced size so that they are usable by the little ones.
Except in some cases where parents have the opportunity to reserve a small private bathroom for their children and want to equip it with a toilet. small in size, these toilets are mounted inside kindergartens, schools and other public and private facilities dedicated to children.
Types of Toilet Installation:
As we explained in the introduction, not all types of toilets can be suitable for our home, it all depends on the drain we have in the bathroom.
Wall Drain:
In this type of drain, the water conveyed by the cistern is drained into a pipe positioned inside the wall behind the toilet. The great thing about the wall drain is that it can be used with all types of toilet bowls.
Floor Drain:
The floor drain is still the most popular as it was the one used as a single model until recently. In this model, the toilet conveys its contents into a hole in the floor and can only support floor-mounted toilet models.
Is it better to drain on the wall or on the floor?
Hard to say. For years it was believed that the floor model was the best because, thanks to its shape without curvature, it was able to avoid traffic jams and blockages. However, recently many experts say that there is no real difference and that the only criterion of choice is aesthetics.
