Breathing is fundamental but it’s also not something we often think about. If you’re wanting to improve your life, changing your breathing to get the desired emotional result is a great option.
3 Breathing Techniques That Will Change Your Life
Quick In, Slow Out
This is the instant reset breath. By inhaling air as fast as you can and releasing it slowly, you flood your brain with oxygen and receive an instant moment of clarity and calm. This is the kind of breath that signals the brain to zoom out and take a look at the big picture, allowing you the opportunity to quickly assess and decide on your next course of action.
Slow In, Quick Out
This is the release breath. This breath is designed to help you expel negative emotions and pain from your body. By breathing in slowly and releasing the breath as quickly as possible, it’s almost as if you’re gathering all the tension in your body and then dropping it in one fell swoop. Whenever you feel tense, this breath can help and I recommend utilizing it whenever you need to.
3 and 5 Breath
This is a meditative breath and one that I generally do with an Abraham Hicks meditation. This breath brings your body into a state of lasting calm and contemplation. This breathing technique is a long-term breathing technique too though (as in around 15 minutes). By focusing on your breath in this manner you focus yourself into a state of heightened awareness, healing, and growth. If you do this type of breathing every day, you will improve your ability to handle the everyday stressors of life.
