BJP has released its first list for the gathering elections to be held in Uttarakhand. BJP has declared the names of candidates for 59 seats, with the name of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Among the candidates whose names have been approved by the election committee of the BJP are Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, along with several other cabinet ministers and sitting MLAs.
Uttarakhand will go to the polls in a single phase on February 14, after which the including of votes will get a place on March 10. There are 70 assembly seats in Uttarakhand, for which BJP, Congress as well as Aam Aadmi Party are in the fray. BJP is presently in power in the state. On the other hand, Pushkar Singh Dhami is the third Chief Minister of the state in the previous five years.
The electoral mood of Uttarakhand is looking a bit different this time. Many leaders who came to BJP after leaving Congress last time have started knocking on the door of Congress again.
