Make Pallet coffee tables at home.

This tutorial will walk you through the process of making a simple coffee table out of pallets. The project will take about 4-5 hours to complete.
1. The first thing you’ll want to do is to decide how long you want your coffee table to be. Measure the height of your sofa, then  add 1 inch and add 3 inches onto that. Once you’ve made this decision, cut the pallets down to fit your needs.
2. Lay two of your cut pallets on their sides and line them up against one another. Keep in mind that you’ll want to leave about 2 inches at the bottom and 1 inch at the top  to make room for your drawer. Some people like to measure the thickness of the bottom of their sofa before they cut their pallets, leaving an inch or two on either side for plywood.
3. Secure two boards on the short sides to stabilize the pallets. Use wood screws to secure the boards, then measure the width of the boards,  which you should do at both ends, to be sure the screws are the same length. Now do the same to the other two sides.
4. Now measure out your drawer portion. We used a 10″x10″ piece of plywood, but you can also use two smaller pieces that will meet at an angle.You want to cut your  pallets so that the joint  is covered by about 1 inch. This will make it less noticeable and ensure stability. You may need to use smaller screws to hold this joint together.Again, make sure the screws are the same length on each end. Your drawer will now slide easily in and out.
5. To finish it off, we  recommend you use the natural look, but you can spray paint it if you want to. We’ve found that a dark stain works well.

Step One:

-Nails

-4 saw horses

-Saw

-Chisel

-Wood glue

-Staple gun

Step Two:

1. Decide which side of the pallet will be the front of the chair. Carefully remove the nails, following the grain of the wood.

2. Sand the front of the pallet with a medium grit sandpaper.

3. Flip the chair over. If you are using 4 saw horses, place them under the pallets to hold it up. If you are not, find something to prop it up .

4. Remove the nails on the other 3 sides of the pallet.

5. Flip the chair to the front side.

6. For the back of the chair, cut three boards to form a triangle that is the same width as the chair. Make sure the edges are all flush with the pallet.

9. Drill the holes in the top of the triangle to match the pattern on the chair.

10. Put wood glue on top of the triangle and nail it onto the chair. .
