Citrix XenServer Installation Guide
To install the software:
- Visit the Citrix product page and download the software using your login credentials.
- Create an Installation media by burning the ISO image of XenServer on the CD
- Insert your bootable CD in your system and boot it.
- On the welcome/installation screen you will see an option to select a keymap. Select the keyboard layout/keymap of your choice.
- Install any additional device drivers by pressing the F9 key and following on-screen instructions.
- After installing drivers hit “OK.”
- You will see the End User License Agreement on your screen. Read it and hit the “Accept” button.
- Now to install the software choose the “Perform clean installation” option or “Upgrade” option if you are upgrading your server.
- Hit “OK.”
- Now you have to choose a disk that you want to use as a primary disk. Once you do that hit “OK.”
- After that, you will need to select a disk that the server will use for virtual machine storage. Once you do that hit “OK.
- Now select “Local Media” as your media source and tap “OK.”
- Next, configure networking for connecting the installation wizard to the installation media files. Once you do that hit “OK.”
- Now set/configure NIC by selecting the “DHCP” option. After that hit “OK.”
- Choose the “Verify installation source” option and check the integrity of the installation files.
- Hit “OK.”
- Configure your user account by setting a root password.
- Next, configure the primary management interface and hit “OK.”
- Set up the NIC IP address by selecting the “Automatic Configuration (DHCP)” option.
- Now type the hostname and select the “automatically via DHCP” option. Once you do that hit “OK.”
- Select your city and time zone. After that hit “OK.”
- Select the “NTP” option and hit “OK.”
- Now select/choose the “NTP is configured by DHCP server” option. After that hit “OK.”
- Install the server by hitting the “Install XenServer” option and then hit “OK.”
- Install supplemental packs by hitting the “Yes” button.
- Eject the installation CD and insert the supplemental pack CD and hit “OK.”
- Choose the “Use media” option to continue.”
- Now eject the installation CD and hit “OK” to reboot your server and complete the process.
XenCenter Installation Guide
To install the software:
- Uninstall any previous version of the software from your system.
- Double click on the “Xencenter.msi” file to launch the installation wizard.
- Select the folder that you want to use as the destination folder and follow on-screen instructions to install XenCenter.
Connection Guide
To connect the XenCenter app to XenServer:
- Open the XenCenter app and navigate to the “Home” tab.
- Hit the “Add New Server” option.
- Now type the IP address of XenServer in the server field.
- Next enter the root name and password and hit “Add.”
- You will see the “Save and Restore Connection State” dialog box on your screen. You can use it to specify your preferences for collecting information about the host and automatically restoring connections.
- To change your preferences, choose the “Tools” option from the main menu and then tap on the “Options” option.
