Here are some of the bowlers who have acquired a hat-trick at the Indian Premier League.

Makhaya Ntini- Year 2008 [Chennai Super Kings]

Former South African bowler, Makhaya Ntini became the first overseas player to pick up a hat-trick in the 1st season of the IPL. Ntini was representing the Chennai Super Kings and picked up his hat-trick against the Kolkata Knight Riders. It was the 3rd hat-trick within the IPL’s inaugural season as well.

Rohit Sharma- Year 2009 [Deccan Chargers]

Although it might be hard to believe, the current Mumbai Indian’s skipper also obtained a hat-trick in the league. Sharma is known for his exploits with the bat, but in 2009 IPL, he did something unusual from his aptitudes and picked up a hat-trick against the Mumbai Indians.

Parveen Kumar- Year 2010 [Royal Challengers Bangalore]

The hat-trick picked by Parveen Kumar was the only hat-trick in the 2010 IPL season. Kumar was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and performed exceptionally well. He acquired the hat-trick against Rajasthan Royals and became the 6th bowler to do so. On the other hand, he also became the 5th Indian bowler to obtain a hat-trick in an IPL match.

Ajit Chandila- Year 2012 [Rajasthan Royals]

Ajit Chandila became the first uncapped Indian bowler to pick up a hat-trick in the 2021IPL season. He played for the Rajasthan Royals and acquired his hat-trick against the Pune Warriors India during the first over of the game. He showed a lot of promise with his ability to spin the ball. But his journey in the IPL was pretty short because he received a life ban from BCCI for spot-fixing.

Pravin Tambe- Year 2014 [Rajasthan Royals]

The hat-trick acquired by Pravin Tambe was the first one in the 2014 IPL season. Tambe was representing the Rajasthan Royals and became the ninth bowler to pick a hat-trick in IPL history. The veteran leg spinner played brilliantly against the Kolkata Knight Riders, where he finished off with 4/26 in 4 overs.

Axar Patel- Year 2016 [Kings XI Punjab]

In the 2016 IPL, the Kings XI Punjab [now Punjab Kings] faced the table-topper, Gujarat Lions. Things were looking pretty difficult for KXIP until Axar Patel came into the picture. He bowled brilliantly during that match, where he picked up 4 wickets in 5 balls, which also helped him obtain his first hat-trick in the IPL. He paved the way for his team with a 23-run win against the Gujarat Lions.

Samuel Badree- Year 2017 [Royal Challengers Bangalore]

During the 2017 IPL season, Samuel Badree played the 1st match for his team in the IPL league. Apart from that, he took his first hat-trick in that exact match as well. Even though it was a low-scoring game, Badree’s excellent bowling was not quite enough for the Mumbai Indians to stop them from gaining victory.

Sam Curran- Year 2019 [Kings XI Punjab]

Back in 2019, Sam Curran was purchased by the Kings XI Punjab [currently, Punjab Kings]. It was his IPL debut, and he bagged the first-ever hat-trick within the league. The match was against the Delhi Capitals, and the English all-rounder cleared out the DC’s tail with his death over spell.
