STEP 1: Collect Required Material
You should collect the required material and tools. You should choose a rope that is at least ¾ inches in diameter. When it comes to the rope of the swing, there are lots of choices. If you want to have something with a natural fiber look that can tolerate sunlight, abrasion, and heat, then I would recommend you to choose manila. This type of rope is perfect for swings because it can stay long even after tolerating abrasion and high heat.
Usually, the manila ropes have a working load limit of approximately 695 pounds. If you are looking for higher load limits, then you should choose twisted polypropylene. It has a working load limit of approximately 1,090 pounds. Also, the twisted nylon and polyester rope have a working load limit of 1420 pounds. But manila rope has good resistance features. Therefore, you should go for the manilla rope. According to the thumb rule, you should hand the tire at least 12 inches high from the ground.

STEP 2: Know Your Knots
You should tie rope with the tire and around the tree as well. Make sure that you use the same knot for tying. While making a knot, you should make sure it is sturdy and safe. There is a wide range of options while choosing the type of knot. In general, there are two types: loop or hitch. The simplest loop knot is known as bowline and it is commonly used by most people.
To make this knot, you just need to toss the rope over the branch limb. After that, you have to leave at least one foot of rope at one end. Take the smaller end and make a loop with the longer one. You should pass the shorter end of the rope through the bottom of the loop. Move it from the long end of the rope and then finally move it back to the loop. You should keep the knot tight by pulling the shorter end.
STEP 3: Your Knots
You should create a little bit of a complicated and powerful knot so that your kids may not fall while swinging on it. You should wrap the shorter end of the rope around the branch limb two times. After that, you should cross two sides of the rope to form a loop. Finally, tuck the shorter end inside the loop. It is very important to tighten up the knot. You should tie an overhand knot on the open end to create a stopgap.
STEP 4: Hang the Tire
Once the rope is properly tied up with the tree branch limb, then it is time for tire swing swivel mount. You should create the same knot as described above for integrating the tire with rope.
