Llogara
Llogara National Park is located about 40 km south of the city of Vlora. It is located on the swords of Mount Llogara and covers an area of 810 hectares, with altitudes varying from 470 to 2,018 meters above sea level. The park combines the beauty of the mountains with a coastal climate. You can enjoy some of its magical beauty as you travel along the Vlor-Saranda national road in Qaqa de Llogara, 1025 m above sea level. Here, medical and decorative plants are spun within a drinking forest. . After 20 minutes of drinking along the national road, you will enter the Albanian Riviera. Here, you can spend the night in the park and enjoy various restaurants, contemporary clubs, activities and outings. It is also a great place to enjoy air sports, as Llogara is well known for international air sports such as parachutes and hanging slides.
Palasa
After crossing Qaqa and Llogaraja on a road that dates back to Pompeo’s time, he descends on the Albanian Riviera. This warm Mediterranean area has almost 300 sunny days a year. The first beach to visit is Dhraleo (Palaso), known for its crystal clear waters. Pompeo and his army stopped on this beach in ancient times, when he was known as the Gym.
Dharmi
It is famous for its crystal clear waters and small cobblestone beaches such as Jaliksar, Cambodia and Gipea. Located at the foot of a 70-metre rock, Gipea is a rare miracle. The legendary pirate cave is near Dharmi. Dharmi is a picturesque village believed to have been inhabited for the first time in 49-48 a.C. The village is home to the Monastery of Shun Maria, the Church of Shun Todhri, the Church of Ipapandy and the Church of Shun Mitry, with frescoes dating back to the 12th and 14th centuries. The main entertainment activities in Dharmi are swimming, water sports and diving. There are many hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Restaurants combine traditional and foreign cuisine and serve many seafood specialists.
Vuno
The village of Vuno, which is built on a seaside hill and known for its traditions and patriotism, is 8 km south of Dharm. Here you can visit ancient churches such as the Church of Shun Spiridhon, built in 1778, and the Church of Mesodhi, with paintings from 1783. There are also some architectural monuments such as the ruins of Odysseus Kasnec’s house and the home of The Tower of Shane Kote. From here, follow the road to the wonderful jal beach, whose bay is special from those of the rest of the Riviera.
Himamara
Continuing its journey south, you will find the small town of Himara, which has two neighbourhoods: the old Himara, built on the hill, and The New Himara, in The Bay of Pillea. Himamara has five beaches: Filikuri, Pile, Llamani, Potami and Livadhet. They’re all gravel beaches with clear deep waters. The city comes to life during the summer tourist season, when visitors stay in hotels or homes for rent. Himara is the former residence and city of the Ilir Kaon clan. It was founded in the 5th century A.C. and its name is of Pelasgian origin (pre-Illyrian). There are several religious places to visit, such as The Church of Shun Maria of Atal, the Church of Cassiopeia, the Church of All Saints and the House of Lilo Llazar, which has become a monument of culture. Another place to visit is the fortress of Ali Pasha Tepelena, built on a small peninsula in the Tektonic Bay of Porto Palermo. The castle was built in triangotrial form with walls 20 meters high. It is said to have been built on the ruins of an ancient castle. Himamara is particularly known for his traditional iso-polyphonic songs (part of UNESCO’s legacy of oral art).
Separo
The village of Keparo is located near porto Palermo Bay and has its special beach. Built on the hillside, the ancient Keparo has several historical views, including the three-story oldest towers of Ali Pasha, the Shun Dhimitri monastery and the Minalla Gjika House.
Borsh
The village of Borsh is several hundred metres from the coast and about 20 minutes from Himarah. It is the largest beach on the Albanian Riviera and its crystal clear waters stretch for almost 6 km. Several hotels, clubs, nightclubs and restaurants have been built along the length of the beach. The hospitality of villagers and the traditional plate of lamb on the oven are distinguishing characteristics found in Borsh.
