January is a great time to get active and fulfil your New Years Resolution to become more active. Not only is it great for your body, but it’s also completely free! You could visit the Dublin Mountains, anywhere along the Dublin Coast or go further afield to the Wicklow Mountains or Wicklow National Park. Don’t forget to pop into Rueben’s Bar for a well-deserved pint when you’re done!
Temple Bar Tradfest
If you’d like to learn more about our native music and enjoy some craic agus ceol in Dublin City, Temple Bar host a popular Tradfest, a celebration of all things relating to Irish Traditional Music. The Temple Bar area has a great atmosphere rain, hail or shine but especially in January when there are dozens of musical events taking place. There are many types of events, from well-known musicians to children’s groups and each brings their unique sound and style to show the evolution of Trad music.
Most of the events are free but you’ll need to get tickets on their website, where they also have a full listing of exciting musical events. Rueben’s bar and restaurant is also open throughout the year, offering great quality, freshly prepared food and drink for a romantic night in.
