In terms of sales, the Hyundai Alcazar is one of the bestselling Hyundai cars in the segment and the country as well as in this comparison.
Further, the MG Hector Plus has six- and seven-seater layouts, which is the same as the Hyundai Alcazar.
So, let’s see how the MG Hector Plus differs from the Hyundai Alcazar in terms of features and specifications. Let’s read on.
Specifications Comparison
To begin with, the MG Hector Plus is available in both petrol and diesel engines. Under the hood of the Hector Plus, the petrol version has a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, which is tuned to produce 141 bhp at 5000 rpm and 250 Nm of peak torque at 3600 rpm. The diesel version, on the other hand, is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that can pump out 167.67 bhp at 3750 rpm and 350 Nm of peak torque at 3750 rpm.
As for transmission options, both engines get a standard six-speed manual and an optional CVT gearbox. But considering the MG Hector Plus price, the company should have offered a better automatic transmission.
On the flip side, the petrol version of the Hyundai Alcazar gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine (TGDi), which is tuned to pump out 157.57 bhp at 5500 rpm and 253 Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm. Moreover, the diesel version has a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine (CRDi) that can generate 113.98 bhp at 4000 rpm and 250 Nm of peak torque at 2750 rpm.
Both engines powering the Alcazar have a standard six-speed manual transmission but they have different types of automatic transmissions. The petrol-automatic version consists of a seven-speed DCT gearbox, while the diesel-automatic version gets a six-speed automatic gearbox. Given the Alcazar’s price, it has impressive offerings.
As far as fuel economy is concerned, the MG Hector Plus’s mileage ranges between 12.34 km/l and 15.58 km/l. In contrast, the Hyundai Alcazar’s mileage ranges between 18.1 km/l and 20.4 km/l. All are ARAI-certified mileage figures. Please note that these mileage figures can vary with the combination of engine and transmission, the local traffic conditions and the individuals’ driving styles.

Besides that, the top-most variant of the Hyundai Alcazar has all-disc brakes, which is the same as the top variant of the MG Hector Plus.
