Everyone has a different idea of what they find attractive in the opposite sex. In general, we are attracted to beauty that is associated with youth: smooth skin without wrinkles, thick, shiny hair, straight white teeth, and a toned body. As we age, there are many things we can do to maintain and improve our appearance. Cosmetic dentistry, plastic surgery, liposuction, botox injections and skin peels are just a few of the procedures we seek to restore youthful beauty.
In addition to the lines and wrinkles we commonly associated with aging, there are sometimes specific problems caused by disease or heredity, such as hair loss. Hair transplants have been around for years and can restore thinning scalp hair. Men in particular have taken advantage of this treatment as they wish to prevent or reverse hair loss.
Another problem faced by both men and women is hair loss in the eyebrow area. The tendency for arched or raised eyebrows has resulted in some women using tweezers to pull out too much hair and the hair not growing back. Well-formed eyebrows are very attractive to both men and women and can have a dramatic impact on how attractive a person feels.
Makeup sticks can be used to give hair a look, but if not applied carefully, your face can look like a clown. Fortunately, there are several more effective solutions.
Eyebrow transplants were originally developed for burn victims and involve taking hair follicles from the back of the head and implanting them in the eyebrow area. The procedure lasts 2-3 hours under local anesthetic and the hair is carefully positioned so that it grows in its natural direction gently towards the face. Hair harvested from the scalp grows faster and longer than natural eyebrow hair, so transplanted hair needs to be trimmed to keep it in good condition.
An alternative to pins and implants is semi-permanent makeup. This is very much like a tattoo and the eyebrows can be highlighted with the color of your choice with carefully drawn lines that look like hair. For a natural look, use the same color as the hair on your head or slightly darker. It is also important to follow the natural brow line.
Another solution is artificial eyebrows made from human hair which can be glued together to create a natural effect. They come in a variety of colors, with the hair attached to a flexible gel that is attached with special glue.
