Karmayogi Week:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘National Learning Week’ or ‘Karmayogi Week’ at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, on October 19, 2024. This week is aimed at enhancing the skills of civil servants, contributing to India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. The event will run from October 19 to October 25, 2024.
What is Karmayogi Week?
Launched in September 2020, Mission Karmayogi aims to build a future-ready public service system, combining global vision with Indian values. The National Learning Week (NLW) is a significant event under this initiative, focusing on improving civil servants’ skills both personally and professionally.
Mission Karmayogi’s Objective:
During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of problem-solving and citizen-centric governance. Mission Karmayogi focuses on creating a skill-rich workforce to accelerate the country’s progress.
What Happens During National Learning Week?
The week encourages learning through the participation of government bodies like ministries, departments, and organizations. Every government employee, referred to as a ‘Karmayogi,’ is expected to dedicate at least four hours to study during this period.
How to Complete Courses:
Courses can be completed through iGOT (Integrated Government Online Training) by enrolling in role-based courses or participating in webinars, including policy masterclasses led by experts.
Adarsh Karmayogi Awards:
On the third day of National Learning Week, 13 employees were honored with the “Adarsh Karmayogi Award” for completing over 100 courses on the iGOT portal. The award ceremony took place on October 21, 2024, led by Union Minister of Coal and Mining Mr. G. Kishan Reddy and Minister of State Mr. Satish Chandra Dubey.
