This medication works by acidifying the blood, leading to increased respiration and facilitating a quicker adaptation to altitude.
Studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of Diamox when taken at a dose of 250 mg every eight to twelve hours before and during ascent, significantly reducing the severity of AMS, a condition commonly experienced during climbs like Mount Kilimanjaro.
