Often, the welfare system is used to abuse other family members’ reputation, work talent and work ethic so that dominant family members will prosper more successfully and even be cared for in old-age. The aristocracy also seems to endorse this process through acts of omission as a benefit to those affiliated with them as, ironically, a form of socialism. This marginalization or scapegoating in families may be overlooked despite many complaints to congressional representatives. Alpha-male dominance in social settings is encouraged by local counties, even in religious settings where a First Amendment right to participate doesn’t seem to be respected. After all, no one’s health is perfect. Mental health diagnosis may sometimes be used to begin the disability paperwork, and other disabilities are overlooked without the help of more ethical, local, health-care providers or organizations. Any contact with law enforcement may be troubling. Any success accomplished in public can often be a legally and financially unstable event, at the very least an emotionally upsetting one to the disregarded individual. As law enforcement may often become involved after gaining knowledge of an individual or their family, they may monitor the successes of an individual that was placed into medical care. Because of labeling or stereotyping, work found or gained may often be high-risk or in employment areas where hiring is more equitable. Nevertheless, short-term employment is often the norm as the American welfare administration will audit (sometimes more than once in a short while) the nature of an individual’s work. Community support resources are needed or the individual will completely fail at attempts to work or be productive. Privacy laws can often become a gray area. The labeled individual may sometimes feel a need for increased privacy protections as others around the family unit may think that there is something wrong with the family and refer them to friends, family or law enforcement. Or employers may often feel something unethical is occurring and talk with others. As a person’s reputation is important for success, the individual becomes increasingly frustrated in social or work settings thus reinforcing the government’s sociological analysis of the individual and his or her disability status.
Recommendations are: If you are in this category of individuals where your family may have resources to initiate these roles, it may be wise to not spend much money on a college education. If you have ever heard the saying, “One step forward, two steps back,” or if you have ever heard that one of your family members or a person of authority near you has discussed physical harm, please prepare yourself earlier rather than later into a more independent life. Find a career that matches your lifestyle and situation.
Stay with it, and most importantly, be careful interacting with those individuals or family units, perhaps limiting visits or stays in their homes if necessary. And most importantly, avoid environments that reinforce this problem. After all, no one can live on a measly, welfare income any longer. Houses bought would be sold. Yet, it is referred to as a great support system.
