Sam Curran became the most expensive player in the history of IPL by getting the highest bid of 18.50 crore by Punjab XI Kings. In both years, 2022 and 2023. He is an English Player who represents England in International Cricket, and was the highest wicket taker of 2022 T20 World Cup.

2. Cameron Green:

Cameron Green is an Australian Cricketer, who is the second highest paid player of IPL at the price of 17.50 crore by Mumbai Indians in 2023. He has proved his worth by his knocks throughout the season and the memorable 103 off 47 balls that kept MI hopes alive for Trophy.

3. KL Rahul:

KL Rahul was the highest paid retained player of IPL with the price of 17 crore to play for Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG). He is an Indian Wicketkeeper-Batsman and the Skipper of Lucknow team.

4. Chris Morris:

Chris Morris is a South African player who was purchased by Rajasthan Royals (RR) at a whopping price of 16.25 crore in 2021. He became the leading wicket taker for his team that year by taking 15 wickets.

5. Ben Stokes:

Ben Stokes is the second English player of the highest paid players in IPL after Sam Curran, as he was purchased by CSK in 2023 at a price of 16.25 crore. He is an all-rounder but he got injured in a match and was ruled out of the tournament.

Nicholas Pooran is a Trinidadian cricketer who represents the West Indies in international cricket. In 2021, he was purchased by Lucknow SuperGiants for 16 crore. He is wicketkeeper-batsman, especially known for his explosive batting style.

7. Yuvraj Singh:

Yuvraj Singh is the magnificent player of Cricket history as he played 2011 WC with cancer disease and after curing it he still managed to continue his International career. He was purchased by Delhi Daredevils in 2015 at a price of 15 crore.

8. Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma is the Indian Captain and one of the most successful batsmen of cricket. He was purchased by the Mumbai Indians at a staggering price of 16 crore in IPL 2023. 

9. Ravindra Jadeja:

Ravindra Jadeja is the best all-rounder of team India, and was retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2023 at the price of 16 crore. He was part of Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural edition of IPL, and was later purchased by CSK and is retained every year.

10. Rishabh Pant:

Rishabh Pant is the retained player of Delhi Capital at the price of 16 crore as one of the best captains of IPL. Unfortunately, He was ruled out due to getting injured in a car accident before IPL 2023. 

Now, BCCI is all set to organize Auctions for IPL 2024 on 19 December 2023, at Coca Cola Arena, Dubai. The purse amount of teams are also increased from 50 crore to 100 crore so franchises can openly set their team according to their team needs.
