In a significant development, CreateSafe, a renowned music tech studio with a track record of supporting innovative projects like Grimes’ Elf.Tech, has successfully secured $4.6 million in seed funding. This funding marks a pivotal moment for CreateSafe as they prepare to introduce their groundbreaking AI-powered platform, TRINITI.

TRINITI, the upcoming platform, is poised to revolutionize the music creation and distribution landscape by empowering artists to monetize generative AI opportunities. The project has garnered substantial backing, led by Polychain Capital, a prominent cryptocurrency and blockchain tech investment firm. Additional support has poured in from industry heavyweights such as Crush Ventures, Anthony Saleh (manager of Kendrick Lamar, Nas, and Gunna), Paris Hilton (of 11:11 Media fame), MoonPay, Chaac Ventures, Unified Music Group, and Dan Weisman (VP, Bernstein Private Wealth Management).

One noteworthy development following this funding round is Grimes’ addition to CreateSafe’s advisory board. This partnership underscores the studio’s commitment to ongoing experimentation and innovation in the field of AI.

CreateSafe envisions TRINITI as a comprehensive music platform that covers the entire creative process, from inception to release. It seeks to depart from the industry’s prevailing “algorithmic obsession” and instead offers a fresh, artist-centric business model.

TRINITI features personalized AI tools with an attribution engine that harnesses voice, sound, writing, and imagery inputs to generate all the creative assets essential for an artist’s campaign. In the words of Daouda Leonard, CreateSafe’s Founder & CEO, “With TRINITI, you can turn inspiration into a song and set of visuals. That music gets distributed to DSPs, a marketing plan can be generated, and all of the business on the backend can be easily managed. This whole process takes seconds.”

The platform currently offers five accessible tools to the public, including voice transformation and cloning, text-to-audio sample generation, AI chat, distribution, and music IP management.

CreateSafe’s mission is to address the challenges faced by artists in the music industry, which has often been marred by middlemen taking advantage of creators. “We want to pioneer the age of exponential creativity and give power back to creators,” Leonard emphasizes.

CreateSafe has dedicated the past five years to developing tools that bring transparency to the music industry. Their collaboration with Grimes has allowed them to share these creative tools with the public. Grimes and CreateSafe initially partnered in May to launch Elf.tech, an AI platform in beta that enabled users to create songs using Grimes’ voice while offering a 50% share of the master recording royalties.

CreateSafe, established in January 2018 and based in Los Angeles, boasts a portfolio of products such as the Record Deal Simulator and Droplink. The studio has collaborated with top-tier artists, including Grimes, DJ Snake, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, Take a Daytrip, and Dom McLennon.

Notably, Elf.tech serves as a prototype white label of CreateSafe’s TRINITI platform, demonstrating the studio’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI technology in music creation and distribution. Elf.tech and Grimes later teamed up with TuneCore, owned by Paris-based Believe, to enable TuneCore artists to distribute collaborations created through Grimes’ Elf.Tech AI across major streaming platforms.

Recently, Grimes and CreateSafe forged a partnership with music technology platform Slip.stream, allowing creators to incorporate over 200 GrimesAI songs in their videos, podcasts, and livestreams on platforms like TikTok and YouTube. This collaboration has bridged the worlds of music and user-generated content, providing a licensing platform for creators, businesses, and freelancers to safely use GrimesAI songs.

Since its launch, Elf.tech has seen over 1,000 songs created, leading to Grimes being recognized as one of Time Magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People in AI 2023.’

CreateSafe’s successful seed funding round for TRINITI promises a bright future for the music industry, offering artists new and innovative ways to unleash their creativity and regain control of their careers. With TRINITI on the horizon, the possibilities for AI-driven music creation and distribution are boundless, and the industry is poised for a transformative journey into the age of exponential creativity.
