Rock music has been and always be a great alternative to old folk. I am not dissing the latter music genre, but rock music will probably never go out of style. People are enthusiastically enrolling in rock music courses for beginners because of its unique style and the freedom it offers to express oneself.
Throughout the decades, rock music has seen some great times. Rock was a piece of music that never followed a particular pattern. There are dozens of rock artists and bands that have been awarded for their originality and creativity in the music industry, including Frank Zappa, Alice Cooper, Nirvana, Queen, and Guns N’ Roses. They never followed any rules regarding writing music and singing their heart out.
As a fan of rock music, I find this music genre’s history to be quite intriguing. Rock ‘n’ Roll came from African-American culture during the 1950s. Elvis Presley was greatly influenced by Big Bill, a rock and Blues guitarist who appeared in the music world in the 1920s. A few other artists who followed his beat include Rolling Stones and The Beatles.
In the early 1970s, rock music started picking momentum and became one of the most preferred types. During this time, people were heavily into rock bands, including AC/DC, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, and KISS.
The Negative Label of Rock Music
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about rock music?
- It’s loud.
- It’s got a lot of bad words and is unsuitable for young children.
- It has curse words.
True. However, all these are negative options that come out of ignorance. If you open your mind and heart and then listen to rock music, you will find out that it is not as dangerous and aggressive as it is made out to be. In my opinion, rock musicians are just singers trying to get a voice in the crowd to spread a message they are passionate about.
What Is Rock?
Ask any music teacher in Abu Dhabi, and they will tell you rock music has character, personality, rhythm, and beat… all features not found in any other music genre. Rock music promotes a lively feeling and the desire to reach freedom. Most rock songs talk about real-life stories that people relate to. People see rock artists not as idols to worship but as buddies with whom they can share their secrets.
Rock music has held this image of going against everything, sometimes for fun and other times for attitude. It has the power to touch us emotionally, which sets rock music apart.
Five Reasons Rock Music is Popular
No Censors! Rock Allows Musicians to Express Themselves
Rock has always allowed people to express their abilities and individualities. Rock musicians have no limits when it comes to creating music. Since this music style is versatile, it can be used in any way.
Rock serves a great purpose, giving young adults an outlet to cope with their problems. You know how today’s teens are. They think their parents are on their case, not allowing them to be who they are. This is where rock music comes in. It gives these lost teens an identity.
Rock music reflects their frustrations and hardships, giving them a sense of belonging and a voice that understands them.
Rock Musicians Use Real Instruments
Unlike pop, jazz, and other music genres, rock comes from real instruments. There are no DJ overlaying tracks or sound effects that distract people. Rock is old school and relies heavily on guitars and drums. You won’t hear an auto-tune that you usually do in today’s electronic music. If you are a rock music writer, why not get guitar lessons in Abu Dhabi to give your lyrics a beat to go with?
Rock Makes the World a Better Place
Rock music brings people together. It allows them to meet people who think alike and constantly reminds them to enjoy life. If that isn’t the best message to make your day, then I don’t know what is.
As I said, rock music is about freedom. You can listen to it without a care in the world because it’s you against them.
Nothing Can Beat the Excitement a Rock Concert Spreads Through the Crowd
When it comes to performing on stage, rock musicians do it with a flare. The lead singer will probably jump into the crowd at some point. He will be carried back and forth by hundreds of fans or grab a stranger’s hand to sing with them on stage. They vibe with everyone in the crowd and love it when fans sing along with them.
Most rock music fans hope to get a chance to play with their ideals. How about getting some drum lessons to show your mad skills when the day comes?
Rock Is Motivational
Most genres of music don’t stick to a particular lyrics style. For example, pop songs are mostly about partying or sex. It’s their beat that sets the tone. On the other hand, rock has variety. Rock music delivers a key message: “Even though things are not going well right now, they will, and you just gotta keep moving.”
Rock music holds a special place in the heart of the human race. It tells people that they can be themselves no matter how old they are. Even after over 70 years, rock music is still on the scene, kicking and alive.
