The Yildiz Legacy HP 12GA/28 in OU Shot gun comes with an alloy barrel with a blued finish. The stock is made of grade II Turkish walnut and the rifle has a 7075 aluminum alloy receiver. The gun is designed to be both attractive and functional. It has a fiber optic front sight and a mid-bead rear sight.
While the Yildiz brand is not as popular as some other shotgun manufacturers, it still holds its own among shooters and is available at many sporting goods stores and online. The Yildiz SPZ ME/12 shotgun has undergone over 25,000 tests before being passed on to customers. It passed all of these tests. Whether you are looking for a slug gun or a patterning shotgun, this Turkish-made shotgun is a great choice.
The gun’s action is tighter than a double shot of moonshine. This stiff action means that you should use lubricant or oil to get the most out of it. The action is stiff right out of the box, but the action does loosen after a couple hundred rounds. And once it loosens up, it’s a very good choice for shooting trap.
What needs to be improved
- The hinge where the gun breaks open to load /eject needs to be smoother. Way too stiff on both guns. I’ve worked on my first gun several times and still wish it was smoother. No reason for it to be this tight.
- The level on top of the receiver that unlocks the break open mechanism never lines up straight with the gun. Alway off the side.
- When purchasing the second gun last week I looked at the wood on about 8 different shotguns in the store. Not a single one had as nice of wood as the first gun I purchased 6 years ago. Not even close.
That being said I still feel Yildiz is a good value. I just feel there is a few things Academy (who owns Yildiz diz) could do to improve their product. No excuse for items 1 and 2 mentioned above. They can and should do better.
