Solar water heaters are used to obtain hot water in houses, summer cottages, residential and non-residential buildings. The standard kit usually includes an indirect heating boiler, flat or vacuum solar collectors, a controller, and a pumping group, but we also offer solar water heaters that run on conventional solar panels. They include either a boiler + ELWA electric heater or a Fronius Syme grid inverter + solar electric heater + a boiler with electric heating elements up to 9 kW (this scheme can operate on surplus electricity generated by a solar power plant). With the help of such systems, it is possible to cover up to 60% of the demand for heat energy per year.
Built-in Controller
This is a new technology of energy service providers in the Pakistan, which consists of conventional solar panels and an electric heating element with a built-in controller. As a stand-alone solution, ELWA completely replaces conventional heating systems in spring and autumn, and often also in winter.
It is a compact unit consisting of electronic control of the power unit and a high-quality heating element. Direct current from solar panels is supplied to the built-in MPPT controller, with the help of which the maximum power is taken from the solar modules for the operation of the heating element. ELWA operating modes can be controlled remotely via Modbus.
Technology
Integration in the field of electricity generation and heating using renewable energy sources is increasingly coming to the fore. The use of solar energy for heating and hot water production increases the efficiency of home power systems. For this, Fronius has developed Ohmpilot, a solution that heats water from surplus solar energy. With this technology, users of PV systems will be able to significantly reduce their heating and hot water costs.
Ohmpilot uses surplus energy from a solar power plant to produce hot water. Thanks to the smooth adjustment of the output power of the device in the range from 0 to 9 kW, excess energy can be efficiently directed for use in the household. As a result, all the electricity generated by the solar power plant is used.
The main area of application of the developed device is heating electric heating elements in boilers and buffer tanks, as well as use with infrared heaters and heated towel rails. The Ohmpilot can be connected to 2 heating elements (electric heating elements). The heating power is controlled via a wireless network, a local network or via a universal Modbus RTU interface, i.e. the device is easy to install and can be activated via the Internet using a pre-installed web interface. Monitoring and control of heating power increase the life of the heating system.
Conclusion :
Especially advantageous to use a solar water heater in the summer and off-season seasons, when the conventional heating system is not used at all. Customers benefit from lower energy costs and an increased payback period for the system as a whole.
Fronius recently received an award — the MTP Gold Medal for Ohmpilot. This is the award for outstanding innovation at GreenPower. Fronius Ohmpilot is an integral part of the efficient integration of energy systems, as by combining electrical, heating, and hot water systems, it optimizes the overall energy system in private households and improves the consumption of photovoltaic systems. Ohmpilot is a huge step forward towards 24/7 solar power where 100% of energy needs are covered by renewable sources.
