Before I came to Bali, I always thought that the taste here is not much different from other Southeast Asian countries, but when I got here, I found that the flavor of Bali is not only the taste of Southeast Asia, but also has a profound fusion of dishes and food.
Even in the tropics, where the temperature remains high all the year round, the residents of Bali are more willing to respond with heat. The arrangement and combination of different flavors of chili sauce (Sambal) and food is one of their favorite games in the kitchen.
The local flavor is based on Indonesian cuisine, emphasizing the warmth of the spices. Ginger alone has several varieties, each with a subtle fragrance of pine branches or earth; spices such as cardamom, cloves, pepper, etc. add a bit of oriental mystery; as for garlic, shallots, and countless chili peppers. This stomach-warming spice outlines sharp edges and corners.
The pungency is painful, then another dose of lemon basil is sour and refreshing, and under a shock, you can use shrimp paste to precipitate a mellow and salty taste. Finally, don’t forget to warmly embrace the sweetness of coconut milk and palm.
So, where to eat?
1.Made’s Warung
Kuta and Seminyak are the most lively places in Bali. The streets full of tourists are full of countless exquisite and small cafes and small restaurants. Along the way, there are designer boutiques. When you are tired, you can turn into a nice small shop. The shop stopped to rest, and by the way, beat the teeth. When night falls, go to several nightclubs that stay up all night to experience the local nightlife, and give a few glasses of intoxicating alcohol to the crowd.
Warung means food stall in Indonesia, so this shop owner prints Nepalese-style snacks. As a traditional restaurant with a long history in Bali, it has the first Indonesian seafood fried rice (Nasi Goreng Seafood) on the island.
Next to the restaurant is Kuta Beach, the environment is relatively quaint, you can browse the menu in front of the door before deciding whether to enter the store for consumption. There are different dance performances in the store every night. Made’s Warung also has branches in Seminyak and Jimbaran, so you can choose from nearby.

2.Gipsy Fish
The Russian owner settled in Bali after traveling various countries and opened this restaurant.
The dishes produced are generous and healthy, focusing on seafood, and of course there are delicious dishes from all over the world. The price is not cheap, about 150 per capita, but the material is really fresh, and it is calculated according to the weight.
Salmon, herring, and even fish and chips can be a delight, and vegans can also find happiness here, with roasted vegetables, chickpea salad, tabbouleh… there are plenty of options.
The restaurant is in front of Bintang Supermarket in Seminyak. The storefront is bright and fresh, and it looks cool.
