The first dread that every person experiences during a move is the breakage of their delicate possessions. Our home is filled with several fragile artifacts, and it would be impossible to remove them all at once. Every room in our house, whether it be the living room, bedroom, or kitchen, contains one or more breakable items.
You must pack these delicate goods carefully, and if you follow a few simple guidelines, you should be able to keep them secure until you unwrap them in your new home.
The appropriate packing supplies
Everything you need for a secure packing job is packing material. Regardless of how carefully you think you have wrapped and packed your breakables, something is likely to break without the proper packaging materials.
When moving, it’s crucial to start by selecting packing materials that won’t scratch these delicate things. Make sure there are no sharp objects or items that can cause the other materials to become colored on a special occasion.
A few essential packing supplies to have include packing paper, bubble wrap, sturdy boxes that are the right sizes, packing tape, and plastic wrap. To avoid having to stop packing because you are out of boxes, it is crucial to have plenty of these packing supplies on hand.
Keep in consideration the sizes, weight, and quantity when gathering the boxes for your fragile things. Try to pack larger goods like frames and similar items in their original boxes if there are any. Try to obtain a box that is more similar to the original one if you are unable to locate the original one. Having some extra boxes is preferable to purchasing the ideal number of boxes.
You must improvise and obtain the proper packing material depending on the type of fragile items you are packaging. If you can’t find any packing supplies, get in touch with the movers you hired and ask them to make arrangements for you.

How to package delicate objects?
We’ll now look at how to pack some of the common fragile objects found in all homes to assist you in starting out.
Plates
Choose a box for plates that is just a little bit larger than the plates. Place the dishes vertically into the box after separately wrapping them in packing paper. This will make it easier for you to keep more dishes in a single box without making it cluttered. You can place bubble wrap or any other cushioning material between two plates to be on the safe side. Don’t forget to cushion any shocks by cushioning the top and base of the box with bubble wrap and packing paper. Attempting to place additional plates in the box when it is already full
Give the box a little breathing room, cover the top with bubble wrap, and then tape it shut.
Glasses
Place packing materials along the top and bottom, much like the plates. Packing paper should be wrapped around each glass starting at the bottom and stuffed into the glass’s mouth. If you are packaging wine glasses, first wrap the stem in some packing paper before wrapping the entire object in more packing paper.
Put more packing material inside the glass if there is more room. Inside the box, arrange the glasses in a line. Use more packing material to fill in the gaps between the glasses to prevent movement during transit.
Mirror
Find the proper sized box first when packing delicate, thin, square and rectangular items like mirrors and framed photos.
To prevent the glass from moving or, even if it does break, damaging the picture inside or leaving you with a scar when you unpack it, make an X mark with the taping from the corners of the mirror or picture. Wrap it completely in packing paper and fasten it with packing tapes. You might also insert it inside the box after wrapping it once with bubble wrap. You may also put it inside the box and fill in any gaps with bubble wrap.
Make sure there isn’t enough room within the box for the mirror or the photo to move around. Then use packing tape to firmly seal the box.
