Astrology can say a lot about your marriage. Whether it will be a happy marriage or not, how long it will last, what kind of problems you will face, etc., can be understood by an expert astrologer by looking at your horoscope.
There are 12 astrological houses in a horoscope. Some of them are related to marriage and love affairs.
Houses Related to Marriage
Lagna (1st house), 7th house, 2nd house, 5th house, 11th house, and the 12th house are most important in the birth chart.
Lagna: This is the house that represents the individual and their personality.
- 7th house: It represents the spouse.
- 2nd house: It is the Kutumba sthana and represents the family.
- 5th house: This house represents love and relationships.
- 11th house: This house represents long-term relationships.
- 12th house: It represents expenses and Moksha.
To make predictions about marriage, astrologers take into account the above-mentioned houses and their lords.
Let us see an example.
When the Lagna connects with the 7th house, you will connect with a person of the opposite gender. When it connects through the 5th house, you will fall in love with the other person. If it connects with the 11th house, a long-term relationship is possible. When there is a connection between your 2nd house, it results in marriage with the approval of the two families. But if the 8th and 12th houses are occupied by malefic planets, the marriage may be short-lived.
Chevvai (Kuja) Dosha and the Effect of Mars in Different Houses
Mars is the most active among the 9 planets in Vedic astrology. It represents the traits of vitality, courage, self-confidence, energy, and willpower when it is well-placed. But if Mars is in a negative house, it tends to cause aggression, violence, irritation, volatile temper, anger, conflicts, domination, etc.
What is Kuja Dosha?
If Mars occupies the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of your chart, it creates Kuja Dosha. If it occupies the 4th or 12th house, the effect may be minimal.
Effects of Mars in the Major Houses
Mars in Lagna or first house
Mars in your first house gives rise to strong Kuja dosha. This may cause issues in marital life or relationships. You are likely to suffer from mental pressure or distress. You may get angry easily. You may behave in a harsh or rude manner and exhibit unpleasant behavior. You will be indifferent to other people’s pains and sorrows.
Mars in the second house
The 2nd house is the Kutumba Sthana. Mars’ presence here may cause unnecessary arguments in the family and unhappiness in married life.
Mars in the seventh house
The 7th house represents the spouse. With Mars in the 7th house, the spouse may be short-tempered, harsh, or rude. They will display unpleasant behavior and be uncaring of the pains and sorrows of others.
Mars in the eighth house
The 8th house lies directly opposite the 2nd house. So, if Mars is present here, it directly aspects the 2nd house. It can cause problems and unhappiness in the family and conjugal life.
Other Reasons for Marital Discord
Saturn, too, is a major reason for marital problems. Saturn does not cause problems directly. But if it is placed along with Mars or Rahu or aspects Mars or Rahu, it will lead to marital problems.
If Saturn occupies the 2nd, 7th, or 8th house, or if these houses get aspected by Mars, there will be a strong dosha in your natal chart. If Mars is in the Lagna or Kendra Sthana, it will affect your mentality and behavior. But, if Saturn gets along with Mars in this house, you will behave like a dictator. It will dominate others in all aspects.
Reasons for Delay in Marriage
As long as there is no Dosha in the birth chart, marriage will occur at the right age. But, if the person remains unmarried even after their 30th year, it is a late marriage.
Planetary combinations that cause late marriage:
- If the Lord of the 2nd and the 7th house gets along with Saturn.
- If Saturn aspects the 2nd or 7th Lord.
- If the Lord of the 2nd & 7th house is placed in Saturn’s own house (Makara or Kumbha).
