I recently visited Antarctica with the Jonyang All-terrain Antarctic Vehicle (AAV), also known as the “Xuelong.” The AAV is a truly unique machine, and I was able to take it on a tour of some of the continent’s most inaccessible areas. In this article, I’ll tell you about my trip to Antarctica and what you can expect if you decide to take an AAV.
What is the Jonyang All-terrain Antarctic Vehicle?
The Jonyang All-terrain Antarctic Vehicle (Jonyang ATV) is a Chinese all-terrain vehicle produced by Jonyang Engineering and Research Institute. The Jonyang ATV’s design is inspired by the traditional Yakutian snowmobile, which is well known for its ability to traverse difficult terrain. The Jonyang ATV is built to handle a wide range of terrain conditions, including snow, sand, mud, and ice.
The Jonyang ATV made its debut at the 2016 Auto Show China in Beijing. The Jonyang ATV has received a lot of positive feedback from consumers and industry experts alike since its release. Some have even compared the Jonyang ATV to the famous Hummer H2 SUV, with the Jonyang ATV standing out for its all-wheel drive system, high ground clearance, and beefy construction.
The Jonyang ATV is currently available in mainland China for approximately $52,000.
How it works
The Jonyang All-terrain Antarctic Vehicle (Jonyang ATV) is an off-road vehicle with four wheels designed for travel in difficult terrain. Jonyang Industry Corporation designed and manufactured it in China. The Jonyang ATV is billed as the world’s first all-terrain vehicle capable of navigating snow, sand, and ice.
The Jonyang ATV is lightweight and made of aluminum alloy, weighing only 27 kg. It has a 130 mm ground clearance and can travel at 45 km/h on sand, 75 km/h on snow, and 20 km/h on ice. In addition, the Jonyang ATV has an electric motor that powers the four wheels, a reverse gear, and two front suspension arms.
In December 2017, I traveled to Antarctica on the Jonyang ATV as part of a company trip organized by Jonyang Industry Corporation. Our group consisted of six people: myself (the driver), two company sales managers, and four marketing department employees. Overall, our trip was fantastic. I had a great time driving the Jonyang ATV through the forest.
Antarctica the destination
Antarctica is the world’s most remote continent, and it has many tourist attractions. The Jonyang All-terrain Antarctic Vehicle, also known as the “Xuelong,” is one of the attractions. It is a large vehicle with four tracks capable of traversing snow and ice. I had a fantastic time in Antarctica with the Xuelong!
The journey
I traveled to Antarctica in the “Xuelong” all-terrain vehicle, which was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. I’d never been on a trip before where I felt so cut off from society. The Xuelong was ideal for exploring Antarctica’s untouched wilderness.
The vehicle has a metal frame and sturdy suspension, making it ideal for off-road travel. It has four large tires that provide plenty of traction, and it is outfitted with a plethora of features such as GPS, headlights, and a heater.
The trip to Antarctica was incredible. The scenery was breathtaking, and I truly felt as if I were in another world. The all-terrain vehicle made the journey much easier, and I was able to explore the terrain at my own pace without getting stuck or losing my way.
I would strongly recommend a trip to Antarctica in the Xuelong all-terrain vehicle; it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.image source: www.pinterest.ph
The Xuelong
This past December, I was one of 60 people who traveled to Antarctica in Jonyang’s new all-terrain vehicle, the Xuelong. What Jonyang has created has left me speechless. The Xuelong is a powerful and adaptable machine that can handle a wide range of terrains, from snow and ice to sand and gravel. It is also very comfortable and simple to use.
During my trip, I spent a lot of time riding the Xuelong through some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet. I traveled through the Ross Sea, which contains some of the most pristine and untouched wilderness on the planet, as well as the McMurdo Dry Valleys, which contain some of the driest desert on the planet. The Xuelong handled all of the terrain effortlessly, allowing me to explore these seldom-visited areas.
The Xuelong is a fantastic machine that I would recommend to anyone looking for an exciting way to explore Antarctica. If you want to reserve a spot on one of Jonyang’s future trips, please visit their website or contact them directly at info@jonyang.com.

I couldn’t believe my luck when I found out about this trip. Who wouldn’t want to travel to Antarctica? The continent is vast and mysterious, and it is home to some of the most incredible creatures and landscapes on the planet. So when my travel agent suggested I go on a trip with the Jonyang All-terrain Antarctic Vehicle, I knew I had to go.

We departed China in early December and arrived in Antarctica a little more than a month later. Our first stop was on King George Island, where we were able to explore the area and meet some of the scientists who work there. Then it was time to visit the glaciers, both the small ones near our base camp and the much larger ones further away. We even got to drive through one of the largest glaciers on the planet.
