Eternals star Lia McHugh reveals that she initially could not wrap her head around the idea of Harry Styles as a superhero in the blockbuster franchise. The live-action debut of the Marvel Comics team of the same name was released in November 2021 to a plethora of varying opinions; however, the film was successful enough to warrant these characters having a future in the ongoing MCU Phase 4. For instance, Gemma Chan, who played Sersi in the film, recently confirmed that she would reprise her role in the future.......

Eternals follows the titular team of superhumans created by extraterrestrial forces as they finally regroup and reemerge to protect the civilians of Earth against their arch-rivals, the Deviants. Alongside McHugh and Chan, the film also features Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Bary Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, and Angelina Jolie as Thena. In the post-credits scene, fans were also shocked to discover singer Harry Styles had been cast as Thanos’ brother, Eros, who may have a future in the franchise as well.

In a Screen Rant exclusive interview, McHugh spoke about her experience filming Eternals and the struggles of keeping Marvel’s closely held secrets from fans. Even before the official release of the film, rumors about Styles’ casting floated around the internet, with plenty of people being excited for his contribution to the universe and others being more hesitant about what he could bring to a comic book character. In October, just a month before the film’s release, a reporter who attended the premiere informed audiences that Styles was indeed present in the film and would be featured in the mid-credits scene.........

McHugh’s revelation echoes that of many MCU fans who were initially hesitant about the musician being introduced as a Marvel superhero.
