A new startup, Clickoot, is aiming to provide an Amazon-like next-day delivery system in Pakistan. We take a closer look at the company’s advantages over incumbent logistics providers and its plans for expansion. This article also discusses poster’s acquisition of Call Courier and its expansion plans.
Clickoot aims to provide an Amazon-style next-day delivery service
The idea of a Pakistan-based delivery service is not completely unheard of. Amazon already hosts millions of independent sellers on its Marketplace platform, but they must submit identifying information and banking details. The majority of these sellers come from the U.S. and China, and in Pakistan, the e-commerce sector is not nearly as developed. In fact, many sellers are not even registered on Amazon.
In Pakistan, the e-commerce delivery system is ripe with opportunity. However, the big players have not been able to create a truly technology-driven ecosystem to serve the local market, preventing many small businesses from benefiting from digital trade. Clickoot aims to solve this problem by using a network of delivery agents (80% employee-owned) to deliver packages directly to consumers.
Bykea is another example. The app connects customers with motorbike couriers to deliver their orders. Its technology is available in English and Urdu, and its drivers are licensed and GPS-tracked. Bykea has sixteen delivery hubs around Pakistan. When a user makes a purchase, the system picks up their product and assigns it to a bag. This bag is then delivered by one of its delivery agents.
The delivery services in Pakistan include Clickoot, Airlift, Parcel Monkey, and Bykea. Clickoot focuses on first-mile delivery while Airlift and Parcel Monkey focuses on inside-city deliveries. Together, the four companies service over 1,000 eCommerce sites.

The company recently received the largest seed round of funding in Pakistan. The funding will be used to expand the company’s technology platform, add new services, and grow its team.

PostEx is a Lahore-based fintech startup that recently raised $1.5 million in a seed round led by MSA Capital. Other investors included Zayn Capital and Shorooq Partners. The company also has the backing of Arbisoft’s CEO.

As a result, PostEx is able to offer more affordable financial products to help merchants expand and grow their businesses. The company’s growth has been accelerated compared to traditional financial providers.
