Alexey was born into a multinational family. His father, Georgy Georgievich, is a Bulgarian, and his mother, Putri Cinta, was an Armenian. And if my mother worked in a clinic as a phthisiatrician, then my father was associated with art – he was a graphic designer.

Alexei was assigned to a music school at the age of five, where the boy studied percussion and percussion, but with age he mastered the guitar on his own. In high school, Chumakov began to write songs and actively participate in school events: he led concerts and performed in them with musical numbers. From a young age, the boy behaved independently and very masculine. He earned his own pocket money, not shunning any work, whether it was selling vegetables and fruits in the market or painting neighbors’ fences in the summer at the dacha.

For the first time he effectively announced himself at the music competition “Morning Star”, held in Samarkand. For the performance, the young talent chose a song of his own composition. Chumakov won the competition. This was his first musical victory.

When Alexei was 14 years old, his family left their homes and moved to Tyumen – in the mid-1990s, the national question escalated in the former Soviet republics, and this was the reason for the move. In Tyumen, Alexei entered the Higher College of Arts, but he spent only a year as a student in the vocal department. And then he returned to his native Uzbekistan and continued his studies at the Tashkent Higher College of Arts. In 1998 he graduated from the conductor-choir department and joined the family in Tyumen. He actively composed music for his own songs and … earned a living as best he could: he made arrangements for other performers, sang in restaurants.

He honed his skills so much that at the Voices of Europe Plus competition, held by a popular radio station in the city of Kemerovo, Alexei won in three categories at once – as the best vocalist, composer and arranger. Alexey Chumakov became a star on a regional scale: he wrote whole albums of songs for other singers, was a sound producer, went on tour with his program, hosted the Freak Party TV program on one of the local channels.

In 2003, Alexei Chumakov was recognized by the whole country: he took part in the project “People’s Artist” (he went to Perm to audition) and took 3rd place, losing to Alexei Goman and Alexander Panayotov. Alexey finally moved to Moscow and soon moved his parents closer to him. And his older brother Sergei remained, and to this day lives in Tyumen.

And then Chumakov’s career only went up. A year later, his debut album was released in 2006, his firphst album, Dreams of Something More, was released. Chumak became a regular participant in combined star concerts and TV programs: for example, in 2007 he mastered figure skating in “Dancing on Ice” and remembered boxing techniques in “King of the Ring”. In 2009, together with Tina Kandelaki, he hosted the New Wave contest in Jurmala. And in 2010, he demonstrated the will to win in the Big Race show.

Meanwhile, Chumakov manages to engage in writing activities. In 2004, he completed his first novel, The Color of the Last Sunset, but the book was not destined to see the light of day — the manuscript in a single copy was torn apart by a dog. Then Alexey restored the outline of the plot and turned it into a script, according to which the film in the genre of zombie-thrash “Dirt” was shot, which went unnoticed by the film community. In 2015, Chumakov released the mystical thriller In Search of Ghosts and the psychological thriller 47. The circulation of the books was snapped up so quickly that additional ones had to be printed.

In 2013, Alexey Chumakov proved himself to be a master of disguise. He took part in the show “One to One!” and became the winner. During the project, he was in the shoes of Stevie Wonder, Ilya Lagutenko, Boris Moiseev and Montserrat Caballe. In 2016, he again took part in this show as part of the Battle of the Seasons. This time he tried on the images of Sergei Trofimov, Lyubov Uspenskaya, Anna German and Frank Sinatra. And won again!

Personal life of Alexei Chumakov

Chumakov met his future wife, singer Juana Ahumada, a long time ago, but during the filming of Dancing on Ice, they had the opportunity to get to know each other better. Mutual sympathy arose between Yulia and Alexei, but the young people did not rush things. In 2009, they began to appear as a couple. And in 2013, Alexey made an offer to Yulia, and they got married, arranging a romantic and not crowded celebration in Spain. In October 2017, the couple had a daughter, Amelia.
