Babies do not come prepared.
You can learn the basics of basic hygiene and skincare.
Bath Time 101
To keep the Baby Clean
They should have at least three baths per day with warm water. The next step is to fill the tub with 2 to 3 inches of water. Next, you can keep your baby warm by regularly placing a cupful on their shoulders.
Use a warm washcloth to gently clean your baby’s hair. Gently rub their skin with a cotton ball.
To support your baby’s neck, place one hand on the bottom. Place one hand on your baby’s neck and the other on its bottom.
Basics diapering
There are a lot of things you’ll have to do for your little one when they’re an infant, including–yep–changing lots and lots of diapers. It is important that your child changes their diapers often, using baby wipes gently and thoroughly.
Next, use warm water or diaper lotion to gently wipe your baby’s bottom. Allow your baby to air dry for several minutes so that moisture doesn’t cause irritation.
Be aware of Products.
Use skincare products that are specifically made for babies, such as shampoos, lotions, and bath gels. Be aware of allergic reactions your child might have to these products.
Your baby’s skin should be moisturised at all times. A stash of lotions is a good idea to keep your baby’s skin moisturised.
Do not use antibacterial, deodorant or perfumed soaps. Your baby will enjoy soaps made just for them.
Keep up to date with the Weather.
The American Academy of Paediatrics recommends that children younger than six months old avoid direct contact. Older babies can use sunscreen with a minimum of 15 SPF for the skin.
Babies who have underdeveloped sweat glands can get heat-rash.
Winter can be hard on a baby’s skincare, so make sure you keep it moist by using a cool-mist humidifier. Make sure to give your baby plenty of water in dry months.
