Although we love big seasonal cleaning (passion for the clean house), since we became moms, our time (and energy) allocated to cleaning has been greatly reduced. And let’s be honest, with children the housework never stays done for long.
This is why we try to do a little every day to maintain and keep a semblance of order. It’s less daunting than having to devote many hours one day a week to this task.
Here are the little habits that we have developed to do daily that help us stay on top.
1. Always go to bed with the dishes done
We know that nothing is more discouraging when you’re tired than a sink full of dishes to wash, but for us, it’s even worse to start your day with the drags of the day before. We, therefore, make it a point to empty the sink and fill the dishwasher before going to bed. It allows us to start fresh the next day. And while you’re at it, we apply a loofah at the end to wash and shine the sink.
2. Wipe up water splashes from the bathroom sink surround after using it
Leave a cloth near the sink and wipe the contour immediately after washing your hands, washing your face, brushing your teeth, or any other use that sometimes makes a lot of splashes. This way you avoid having traces of water everywhere and accumulating dirt. Once finished, place the laundry in a waterproof bag until the next wash.
3. We do a 5-minute blitz to put away everything lying around in the evening
Quickly, we pick up toys, keys, papers, clothes, and anything else that we left lying around during the day. Of course, we try to let ourselves be dragged around as little as possible, but he always ends up having things to pick up all the same.

4. We pick up the crumbs on the table and counters
We pass a blow of laundry to pick up the crumbs that have accumulated on the table and counters during the day. Visually, it looks much cleaner without having to go into a major cleaning!
5. We open the windows every day
But what is the relationship with the household? Ventilating your house helps to get rid of unpleasant or persistent odors. That way, they don’t have time to penetrate deeply into the fabrics and it allows us to avoid having to resort to odor hunters and other commercial scented products. The sun also has a strong disinfectant power and it is good for the mood. So summer and winter, we open the windows and we air!
Small, easy, and quick gestures that make all the difference!
