The Central Electoral Commission on Feb 26 released the West Bengal Assembly election schedule. Elections for 294 assembly seats in West Bengal will be held in eight phases. The first phase of polling will begin on the 27th of this month. The final phase of elections will be held there on the 29th of April. The votes will be counted on May 2 and the results will be announced.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has raised questions about the conduct of Assembly elections in eight phases
