The electric kettles with no noise are one of the most practical and essential little products that your kitchen can have and it’s amazing how many people are unaware of how affordable and easy to use it is.
In this world of high technology and ever-increasing choices in products available, the electric kettle was one I had missed. Not sure how, but for some reason, I had never come across one. This seems to be the case in many areas of life. One must be aware first before any decision at all can be made about anything. The purpose of this article is to do just that. Make you aware of the electric kettle and the simple benefits derived from owning one.
My story is no doubt any different from many others out there who enjoy a cup of hot tea during the day. Years of heating my water on the stovetop. Grabbing a pan and filling it with water and then placing it on the flame. Then waiting and waiting for the water to heat up. Sound familiar? If you’re like me, I’m sure it does.
Even after graduating to a water kettle, the wait was the same. Not only the wait but the occasional boiling away of the water. Being the forgetful sort, I would oftentimes come back into the kitchen to find my water boiling but almost gone. Or, even worse, the water was completely gone and the kettle so hot it would cause damage to the pot. Not good!
Enter the electric kettle. I first encountered one back in 2005 when visiting family in England. It seemed almost everyone over there had one. Since tea is drunk in every household I guess it made sense.
I couldn’t believe how much quicker SQM Club and easier it made the brewing of tea. Piping hot and into the teapot in just a few minutes. Everywhere I went you would find water heating up in one or it sitting on the counter just waiting to be used. I made a mental note of it and when we returned I began to investigate.
What I found was that there are many models to choose from and they come with a variety of features. All different sizes and shapes. Some with temperature settings and some not. Many colors to choose from. I finally decided on a simple, single-setting unit of brushed stainless steel that not only boils the water quickly but shuts itself off when done.
I have put the pan away for good! And along with it the worries of forgetting that I have put my pan or kettle on the flame. Just not having to worry was worth the cost. Peace of mind can be priceless.
Since we drink at least a couple of pots of tea almost every day I would estimate that from the date I purchased our unit, up until the present, our electric kettle has boiled over 3600 pots of water. Not bad considering it was only about $50 and I have not had one problem with it since making the purchase. Great value and the safety that it brings is priceless.
I also use it for a few other things like boiling water for instant soup and oatmeal or for hot cocoa and occasionally for a cup of instant coffee. It makes preparing noodles a snap as well.
