History of Teachers Whisky
The Teachers Whisky was found by William teachers who worked in a cotton mill in Clyde before getting married into the MacDonald Family. The family owned a grocery store in Glasgow and when William was involved in the family-run business, he got the license to launch a chain of 18 ‘dram shops’ where men could enjoy a fine glass of whisky with no smoking or rounds allowed.
Later, William’s sons started blending their whiskies for the shop that grew exponentially in demand. This led to the creation of the well-known “Teacher’s Highland Cream” in the year 1884. What’s more interesting is that the brand claims to be the first to use self-opening bottles that do not involve the use of corkscrew and utilize jigger caps instead.
Final Words

The dominant malt in this whisky – Ardmore – is also owned by the same parent company that provides the peaty characteristic to the blend it is known for. The expression is the core lineup in the range and is as popular as the brand itself.
