A fire sprinkler head, also known as a fire hydrant, is the integral part of a fire sprinkler mechanism that dispenses water in case the indications of an emergency have been detected. Fire sprinklers are widely utilized around the world, with more than 40 million sprinkler heads installed per year. The majority of sprinkler heads can be connected to a timer system. Timer systems give the owner of the home or business additional control over the level of water flow.

Sprinkler design has continued to advance through the years. In the 1950s the most common types were screw-vented. This allowed for a high level of operating pressure while the water was discharging. Manual-vent systems became more popular in the 1970s, offering a lower level of operating pressure, but required the use of a valve for the release of water. Advancements in sprinkler design, especially regarding the discharge of water, allowed for a combination of fixed and movable sprinkler heads.

The most common components used in today’s sprinkler heads are the nozzles and the rotor sprinkler heads. Nozzles are the section of the sprinkler that dispenses water. There are different types of nozzles available depending upon the application. For example, there are sweepers, drop and angled nozzles, concentric nozzles, and radius nozzles. The type of nozzle that you choose will depend upon the type of lawn you have, the size of your property, the terrain, and the overall design of your yard.

Rotor sprinkler heads offer a greater control option than either the sweepers or the angle nozzles. The rotation range allows you to control the rate of the spray at a greater distance than either the sweepers or the angle nozzles. A rotating element is responsible for generating the water that is used in the lawn. Depending upon your application requirements, you may need to install more than one rotation in order to cover all of your lawn areas.

Other common components include the timers, which are responsible for initiating the water flow and controlling how long the water supply lasts. Timers can be used for automatic irrigation as well as for manual control. You will find that there are many different types of timers, including digital timers, battery operated timers, and solar timers.

Finally, you will come across the rain sensors, which are also referred to as the motion detectors. There are many different types of motion detectors that are used in sprinkler heads. You will find that the most popular motion detectors are the ultrasonic and the radar motion detectors. Sprinkler systems can really take a lot of the hassle out of irrigation by just providing you with the heads, timers, and nozzles that you need.

When it comes to sprinkler heads, there are two main categories – rotary nozzles and angle nozzles. The most common irrigation system is a rotary nozzle system. You will find that the rotary nozzles usually come as single or dual nozzles. In addition to the nozzles, you will also find the sweep nozzles and the angle nozzles.

Rotary nozzles are basically just long rods that extend out from the base of the sprinkler body. They are rotated and they will eventually hit the soil. At the end of the rod, a valve will shut off the water supply so that the soil will not flood. A rotary head has an open area at the end where the water seal is located. In order to increase your irrigation time and to make your lawn more lush and green, it will be best to install your sprinkler bodies in a way that allows for the water seal at the end of the sprinkler heads to be able to seal the soil tightly.
