The Canadian Government designed express entry to invite people from outside the country to apply for permanent residency under various programs. It can include the skilled worker’s category, skilled federal trades category, Canadian experience class, and more.
When thinking of migrating to Canada, applicants look for ways to secure PR Canada from India. But, it can be a rigorous process and playing it with adroitness can help you prevail.
Now, you can get selected under the Express Entry Program by employing six crucial factors. So, let’s take a look at the pointers you should learn.
Job prospects
Having solid job prospects in Canada is crucial for streamlining your entry under the express immigration program. Depending on this area, your application can be accepted or rejected. But on the other hand, some programs do not require candidates to have a job offer. For instance, a few PNPs like Nova Scotia Demand – Express Entry Stream enable candidates to immigrate without a job offer.
Your application can also be rejected if you do not have any working experience. So, it is ideal that you clarify such cases with immigration consultants or by researching the program. The point is that this factor can help you secure upto 15 points as per your work experience. It means from 15 points for six years of experience to 9 points for one year. Furthermore, you must assess the working knowledge in professions under the 0, A or B NOC code.
Fixed employment
Arranged or fixed employment can accelerate your immigration to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker category. The idea is that an employer must offer you a permanent position in Canada before applying for PR in Canada from India. The job offer must be following full-time employment for at least a year and not seasonal work.
Furthermore, your occupation must be listed in any NOC codes – 0, A, or B. You will also have to convince the immigration authorities that you are proficient in the occupation and can do the job. Or, you can be certified in the country if the job is regulated. You get 10 points for having fixed employment under a Canada skilled worker visa.
Professional track record
You can secure points for having a stellar professional track record. Hence, it is a crucial category for accelerating your entry to Canada. The idea is that you can get upto 15 points based on the number of years of experience you have. You will get the maximum number of points if you have six years of experience and a minimum of one year of working experience.
The full-time position dictates that you must have worked for 30 hours/week. But if you meet the requirements if you have a part-time job, the number of hours should be equivalent to one year of full-time experience. Furthermore, your career should be in a skill-level category as per the National Occupational Classification.
Language proficiency
For having stellar linguistic skills, you can get a maximum of 28 points. You should be proficient in any of the official languages of the country – English or French. Canada chooses four categories to assess the applicants’ competency level in a language – writing, reading, listening and speaking.
You will have to prove your proficiency in any of the languages by taking authorised tests. Canada uses Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) for English and Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) for French. So, a minimum of CLB 7 or NCLC 7 can help you get qualified. You can even get extra points if you are proficient in both languages. But for the second language, you will need to secure a minimum of CLB 5 or NCLC 5 to prove your proficiency.
Educational qualifications
The category for educational qualification is used following two areas.
- You must have a certification or diploma from a Canadian school or university.
- You must provide an ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) report to prove that your certificate is valid and an equivalent of Canadian institutions.
Based on your educational degree, you can get secure upto 25 points. For instance, you will get 25 points for a Doctoral Degree and 5 points for secondary education.
