PIA Acquired Two 2 Airbuses
Pakistan International Airlines first Airbus A320, which it had leased from the Bank of Utah in the United States, landed at Islamabad International Airport early on Tuesday 14th September 2021. An official with PIA said the second plane should arrive in the next several weeks.

The spokesman for the airline said it has put out a tender for the lease-purchase of aircraft. According to the officials, there were two airplanes purchased on dry lease from the Bank of Utah, according to the officials, and each one had a passenger capacity of 170 seats, and both were manufactured back in 2017.
PIA Fleet Up-gradation
The PIA intends to replace its current fleet with more fuel-efficient, cutting-edge aircraft shortly. According to an airline spokeswoman, the introduction of new planes has been delayed because of the Covid-19pandemic and the global aviation industry crisis.
The CEO of Pakistan International Airlines, Air Marshal Arshad Malik, told reporters after the first A320 arrived that PIA’s goal was to provide the most satisfactory services possible to its consumers while using the most fuel-efficient aircraft available in the market.
The CEO also praised the airline’s leadership for bringing in the aircraft in these trying circumstances. He also commended the government of Pakistan, Minister of Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, the PIA Board of Directors, and the finance ministry for their assistance.
Air Marshal Malik ordered PIA engineering and other related departments to meet all requirements as quickly as possible and put this aircraft into service and start offering PIA flights.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has published new guidelines for planes entering and traveling through Afghan airspace. After the Taliban took power, Pakistan International Airlines conducted its first chartered passenger aircraft to Kabul just a day earlier.
The PCAA (Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority) issued a warning to airmen instructing pilots to keep a safe distance because of the lack of an air traffic control system at Kabul International Airport. The PIA flight safety can be jeopardized if aircraft pilots are not made aware of possible dangers along their flight path or at a destination where they may encounter them.
