Tasbeeh is an Arabic term for Hajj, which is a religious duty to perform on Eid. When this day falls, all Muslim inhabitants celebrate it with great joy and happiness. There is no doubt that the event is one of the biggest religious observances worldwide. Among the different types of tasbeeh, Islamic tasbeeh is most famous.

Tasbeeh is a form of Dhikr which involves the praise of God in Islam with the use of special beads called tasbeeh. The word tasbeeh is derived from the Arabic tassel which means “ablility”. It is regularly repeated a few times, with either a mubah (dedication stone) or a misbaaha (a string of beads). While this is done for all religious events, the celebration of tasbeeh during the month of Ramadan is special because of its spiritual significance.

One of the main ingredients of Islamic tasbeeh is to use special prayer beads called mascara. Masbahu are circular prayer beads made from gold or silver. They are round in shape and are very thick so that they cannot be easily broken. The appearance of these prayer beads symbolizes God’s blessings upon you and your family during the month of Ramadan and is therefore considered as a great memento or treasure.

These beads are then strung into a rope made of special tasbeeh material which is tied around the neck and will result in a beautiful and unique memento. This rope is then used by hundreds of families throughout the world for the purpose of praying and is also used during cultural events such as marriages. Each family uses a different rope or string in order to make their own individual tasbeeh with 99 beads. The purpose of using the same color and type of prayer beads is to make sure that when praying for one another they do not need to look at any other prayer beads or memorize any verse from the Quran.

The tradition of using prayer tasbeeh  dates back to Islam’s early days. In fact, the famous story of the pearl necklace was told to have happened after a group of fishermen lost their nets. A local girl happened to notice their plight and went to the ruler of a nearby kingdom. The story goes that the princess requested that whoever could locate the fishermen’s lost nets and restore them to good quality must assist her in gaining favor with her as her stepmother. When she did, the fishermen were able to return to land and help her with her request. In the process, the woman’s stepmother was impressed with their efforts and gave them a set of prayer beads as a gift which they later used to make tasbeeh for all of her family members.

This tradition continues today. Many Muslims use mishap for their prayers. They also use special kinds of prayer beads called “dhabi” or “takfir” which means treasures. This is because the word habit actually means treasures or good things. This is one reason why some Muslims refer to their religion as “kaam sharifun” which is Arabic for “people of the treasures”.

Another way that we can commemorate the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) is by making tasbeeh. Our prayers for him must be in his name. This is what he taught us in the Quran. Even in today’s times when the word “moslem” is commonly used to describe a non-Muslim it still means to pray for God’s favor on the world and on people. So it’s important to give tasbeeh to our imams or religious leaders. It is an act of showing them how much we value their teachings and how much we are indebted to them for the knowledge they have imparted to us.

The fifth way that we can give tasbeeh to our religious leaders is to offer them gifts of tasbeeh. There are many ways in which you can do this. One way is to arrange for a special type of prayer bead necklace or bracelet to be given to the prophet (P.B.U.H).
