Learn to count your blessings my friends! There are a lot of things in this world that make you see the dark side of everything..it might be your highly pessimistic thinking(I mean, why?)..it might be the unbelievable pressure on your mind(which is mostly built up by you and your unrealistic expectations from the world and mostly, the expectations from your own self)…it might be due to witnessing the ruthlessness of a few people around you(not every one is the same..I might add). There are numerous reasons in this world to be negative..but what makes us special is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, you got fired from that job..it is awful,I agree..yes, you go hurt, it is painful,I agree..but you should remember one thing: THIS WILL CHANGE!

I know it is better said than done..but a person’s got to try..isn’t it? I mean I wish to help the people around me in my own sweet way..no matter how small my contribution is. So, I’ll tell you some sure shot ways to lighten up the mood and feel a little happy..because, why not?

  • Read a book..with some hot tea in your hand(maybe some hot fritters along with it) and if it’s a cold day, read it tucked in your blanket..I am sure this will change your mood.
  • Open Youtube and see some random funny videos..listen to happy songs..watch comedy sitcoms.
  • Go to the nearby shelter and play with a furry, fluffy dog..I am sure you will feel elated.
  • Get a pet for yourself-Buy a top silver cat breed and name it as you like..play with it and pet it as much as you like.
  • Go shopping..retail therapy definitely does wonders.
  • Grab a scrumptious meal for yourself.
  • Visit a salon and get yourself a massage..you certainly deserve to be massaged.
  • Put on your best clothes and click a lot of amazing photos.
  • Grab that picnic bag and make an impromptu plan with your loved ones.
  • Catch a late night movie..with some popcorn, soda and nachos(wow, my mouth if full of saliva)
  • Hit the gym and exercise according to your stamina and strength.(exercising releases endorphins, endorphins make you happy)
  • Sit at home and do..NOTHING!
  • Ask a man/woman you like..out on a date.
  • Take a solo trip.
  • Play with a baby..a baby’s laugh is very therapeutic and well, infectious.
  • Look in the mirror and appreciate yourself…trust me, you will feel loved.
  • Compliment random strangers and pause for reactions..their instant reaction would surely make your day..and well your compliments will make their day too.
  • Sit with an old man/woman and listen to their life story..they would be thankful to you for your time.
  • Hug your parents randomly and confess your love for them..the smile on their faces would be absolutely worth it!
  • Thank a person dearly for their service..they would feel good about themselves.
  • Help a poor person and see the precious smile on their face..it will turn your day around.

As there is light after the dark..good things are bound to happen after the bad phase..so pull up your socks, count your blessings, be grateful and love life as it is.
