The steps of construction of kitchen cabinets are simple
Step 1: Prepare
– To install the kitchen cabinets, you need to prepare the following necessary tools: drill, cutter, knife or sharp chisel, pencil, measuring tape, shim,….
– If your house has an old kitchen cabinet, you need to remove it. Next is to clean the surface of the wall and see if any are damaged, dented or not. If so, please mark it again so that you can handle it when installing a new kitchen cabinet.
Step 2: Construction of the upper kitchen cabinets
– If you use corner cabinets, you should install them in the corner first. Insert a brace into 2 cabinets to ensure safety when mounting the kitchen cabinet.
– Use the stylus to draw the baseline according to the desired height. Draw another parallel line about 3 inches from the floor.
– Use a pen to mark the positions of the screws. Because the kitchen cabinet above must contain a fairly large volume of items, you need to screw many screws to secure the cabinet.
– Temporarily catch a wooden bar on the wall, align the top edge of the wood with the bottom edge of the upper kitchen cabinet. Use 3 – 4 screws to secure the cabinet to the wall.
– Clamp the next cabinet frames and then use screws to secure them.
– Do the same with the next cabinet.
– Use the hinge to mount the cabinet door in the kitchen cabinet.
Step 3: Construction of lower kitchen cabinets
– Similar to the cabinet above, you also install the cabinet in the front corner of the wall and should use a brace to insert 2 cabinets.
– Fix the screws to the positions you defined earlier.
– You can use an extra shim placed at the bottom and rear of the cabinet for accurate mounting. Clamp the frames of kitchen cabinets and then use screws to fix them together.
– Screw the cabinet against the wall through the shims and then use a knife to cut off any excess wedges.
– Do the same with the adjacent kitchen cabinets.
– Finally, fit the cabinet into the kitchen cabinet frame.
