For maximum performance of any sporting event Artificial Grass is the best solution. Its used for the current wide range of sporting events, including football, tennis, golf and softball. When properly installed it gives a realistic look to any venue. In the installation guide below you will find some vital steps to follow when joining Artificial Grass.
Steps Involved in joining artificial grass together Ensure that the loose pile is running parallel to the main road. Now fold over at least 300 400mm on the length of each side for ideal joint cut 30mm in from either side. Now fix the second row as you did the first one. Now repeat the installation process with the next row.
Seam
Steps Involved in laying down the seam Now you require two pieces of straight board that are overlapped by a small space. You then need to lay the seams exactly where you want them on the ground and ensure that you mark them with masking tape. The tape acts as a guide for the installation. In this method you need to ensure the distance between the seams is exactly equal. After that you need to install the strips of rubber mats that are also laid parallel to the ground.
Steps involved in laying down the backing Now that the strips of rubber mats are ready you need to lay the backing onto it. Using a large piece of straight board, lay it across the two seams of rubber mats. This should be done in the middle of the area. Next use the adhesive gun to adhere the backing to the surface. For a better result, you can interlock the strips of rubber mats.
Steps involved in laying down the adhesive Well, for the last step you need to select a medium that dries quickly. You should use a heavy duty tape that is wide enough to cover the entire area where the grass is going to be installed. Use the glue as glue and spread it evenly. As you spread the glue on the board it will be obvious which areas have to be covered and which do not.
Foam
Tips for laying down the foam Once the adhesive has dried, cut a piece of the foam to the same dimensions as your existing surface. Then take a section of the foam and roll it over the lawn. The rolled area will act as a basis for the new installation of the artificial grass. For creating a smooth surface, work slowly and meticulously. The foam also helps in creating a flat base for the newly installed lawn.
Tips for securing joins Now that you know the procedure to lay down the artificial grass, identify the two-part technique. For installing the edges of the lawn, place the two pieces of the foam together at their ends. Start undulating them, while ensuring they are parallel. When the ends of the two-part are facing each other, cut them. This will create a smooth edge for the installation of the artificial lawn.
Once this is done, you can go ahead with the two-part edges. You will have to make sure that they are properly sewn and that there are no gaps in between them. To help ensure that this is done, it is advisable to use wide binding tape. Use it across the perimeter, but ensure that it is wide enough to cover the width of the entire edge.
Installing
You can now proceed with the installation process. Before that though, take some time to make a plan on where you want to put the border of the artificial grass. Do this by drawing. Note that you should make a plan for an approximate distance between the two border pieces, along with the length of the border itself. This is very important as you will need to adjust the installation accordingly. For instance, if you were to install grass between the porch and patio door, then you would need to account for the distance from your porch to the patio door.
When the first border of the artificial grass has been fitted, you can proceed to the second border. However, since this area is relatively larger, do not cut the border exactly in the middle. Instead, place one border piece over the other until the desired square footage is achieved. When installing shiny side strips, you will need two pieces of the same pattern or color. These two pieces should be affixed to the bottom of the first piece. However, you will probably want shiny side strips on the outside edges of the patio door or porch.
Once you have installed the borders, you can start to install the grass containing artificial grass membrane. Remember to follow the manufacturer’s instructions when it comes to the grass glue so that you do not damage the grass or spoil its appearance. Once the glue dries, you can then affix the top of the rows of shiny edge strips.
