Your wedding day is so special for you. On this day you are given special treatment for the whole day. But there is one thing that you don’t like at your wedding and that is the paparazzi. The guests may also take interest in capturing their images with you. Will you like it if the without asking you, your images are shared on social media. If no, then what steps will you take to avoid this? Now I am going to tell you how to stop guests from posting about your wedding on social media.
- Organize a ceremony that is unplugged – There is no use of any device in an unplugged ceremony. So, nobody will capture your photos at the ceremony. The guests will happily enjoy the ceremony.
- Show it on your wedding website at some time earlier – Tell the people how important is this ceremony for you and also what the guests need to do and what need not to do at the ceremony. Tell them if they are allowed to take your photos at the reception or not. Inform them if you like it or do not like it to post your photos on social media and share them. For easily finding your every photo you can enquire the guests about a wedding hashtag. After seeing every photo, you can ask them to remove some photos that you do not like to be seen by others.
- Ask the people not to use the wedding hashtag – You can ask the people not to use the official hashtag for your ceremony on social media. So, if you are going to become the wife of a man who sells the products of a particular brand and if that brand is mentioned in the official hashtag, then the people will think that you are advertising that brand.
- In the invitations send a note telling the guests what they don’t have to do at the ceremony – If you want only professional photographers to take your photos and not the guests then you can send a note in the invitation about all this. With this, the professional photographers will not have any difficulty in capturing the best moments of the ceremony because no other person will take the photos except them.
- At your venue use a sign telling the type of your ceremony – If at the ceremony you use a sign on which unplugged wedding has been written then you can prevent the guests from using any device and so nobody will take your photos at the ceremony.
- Announce in the ceremony about any kind of ban – If you want to ban something at your wedding then you have to give information about this to the wedding DJ or photographer and ask him to announce this at the ceremony so that everybody can listen to it and avoid doing that thing which has been banned like taking the photos at the ceremony and sharing it on social media.
- In your approach include a sense of humor – Some guests make it a prestige issue if you ask them not to do something at the ceremony. For avoiding this kind of situation, it will be good to include humor in your way of asking people. A nice joke always makes everyone happy but people usually don’t like it if someone speaks to them like a boss. The guests will respect what you don’t want at the ceremony to happen if you announce it in a funny way or you display it in the form of a sign in which nice wording has been used.
- Make some changes in the settings related to your privacy – Make those changes in your settings of privacy by which without your permission nobody can tag you. In the settings of your Twitter account, Facebook account and Instagram account, you can make these changes. But on Snapchat, removing that tag is not possible. So, here it will be good to do a reporting of such kind of activities.
- If somebody violates what you have said then call him out immediately – In order to avoid the possibility of leaking the photos on social media, ask the photography team or a family member to be careful with any kind of such activity. If any guest indulges in this activity, then ask him politely not to do this.
- For capturing “Sneak Peek” photos ask the photographer – If on social media you do not want to post the photos of guests then a number of reasons can exist behind this. One reason can be you want your wedding to be private and so you do not want to share anything about it on social media. In this situation, you may like only Sneak Peek photos to be captured by the photographer.
