You can have the coolest band merchandise in the world, but what’s the point of having it if you can’t sell it? Follow these tips and your merchandise will be flying off the table in no time!

1. Put a light on it!

Venues / clubs / bars are dark areas. Having a table light helps draw attention and makes people want to see what you have to offer.

2. Make an interesting merchandising display!

Get creative with the way you present your merchandise just like Vlone. One of the coolest setups we’ve seen was for the acoustic band, The Apathy Eulogy. They put their merchandise in old suitcases. He gave his merchandise an indie, almost bohemian feel, which fitted in very well with his music.

Here are some other tips that could make displaying your merchandise more interesting:

  • -Use digital photo frames to display prices.
  • -Use accessories such as trunks, plants, mannequins, etc.
  • -Put wire racks behind your table to hang the t-shirts.
  • -Organize your CDs in pyramids.

3. Combine your merchandise!

Instead of selling your CDs, stickers, T-shirts, etc. individually, try to group them together for a small discount. For example, if you sell your CD for $ 10 and the T-shirt for $ 15, offer both for $ 20. This will make your fans buy more than they normally would.

4. Advertise your merchandise from the stage!

While you’re still on stage and have everyone’s attention, don’t forget to mention your merchandise. You can represent the most beautiful product of your store such as Vlone palm angels. Also, tell people that you’ll be at your merchandise table right after leaving the stage so they know where to find you.

5. Meet your fans at the table!

When you leave the stage, the fans always want to talk to you. Instead of meeting your fans at the front of the stage, go back to your merchandising table. Talk to your fans there.

There is usually a rush to get the gear off stage before the next band starts. Before going on stage, designate a few band members to take care of the team. This will allow at least one person in the band to go directly to the produce table.

6. Accept credit / debit cards!

Let’s face it: we are a near cashless society. Don’t lose sales just because you only accept cash. There are many applications available right now that allow you to process credit / debit card transactions directly through your phone.

If you don’t have a smartphone, another option is to simply use a laptop where Wi-Fi is available and transact through a PayPal account.

7. Give away something for free!

Always have something free to give to your fans. You don’t want your free item to cost more than a few cents each, so we recommend that you hand in little stickers, pens, key chains, etc., with your band’s name on it.

Another great option is to print music download cards with a sample of your music and distribute them for free. Download cards allow fans to download their songs and put them on their iPod, Zune, etc. You can get these cards from companies.

Here are two suggestions

  • -For anyone who visits your merchandising table, give something free. Better yet, use the free article as an incentive for them to sign up for your mailing list.
  • -At the end of the show, hand out free download cards, stickers, etc. to people when they leave. The point of this is to make sure that everyone who leaves the program has something to remember you. This will help you grow your fan base and sell more merchandise in the future.
