Technology is integrated into the lives of students today. You’re with your smartphone every minute of every day, and when you’re not, you’re most likely facing another gadget like your laptop. Even when you’re at school, you talk about social media or chat with your friends through apps.

There’s no denying that digital technology is shaping your overall lifestyle, even your education. The educational system is adapting to the digital age as students are becoming more internet-savvy. Pushed by the pandemic, teachers and administrators were forced to rely on online digital learning alone.

All parties were caught off guard as the transition was quick and unplanned. Teachers had to learn how to navigate the digital space to perform lectures, and students needed to maintain focus despite numerous distractions at home.

There are also additional challenges with technology: Is your internet connection strong enough? Is your device adequate? Or, with finances: Is your budget sufficient to pay for school tuition? Do you have to apply for a student loan

Despite this, as the world adjusted over time, some schools have found their footing. They are now experiencing the benefits of digital education. Some professors have even integrated online workspaces with their classes.

Dr. Amjad, a Professor at The University of Jordan, shares how Lark’s digital workspace has helped his students. He says, “It has changed the way of teaching. It enables me to reach out to my students more efficiently and effectively through chat groups, video meetings, voting, and also document sharing, especially during this pandemic; I will stick to Lark even after coronavirus …”

Digital learning can be exciting. It’s not only listening to your teacher’s lecture on a video call, but it can be more than that. There are many modern learning methods and strategies that classes can incorporate, such as gamification and hands-on learning.

We’ve only scratched the surface of digital education. The possibilities of progress and innovation are endless. Concepts such as automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence can be the norm for the future.

For now, teachers must master the basic approaches of modern learning and understand what’s best for each student. The infographic below illustrates how education is evolving in the digital age.
