People in many cultures wear prayer beads for various purposes. Some use them for adorning their bodies while others use them for different purposes like for healing or for performing spiritual ceremonies. Some use jangama or morayu (tribal beads) to make beautiful decorative pieces for interior designs. However, the most commonly used in Islamic culture is named tasbih and salah tasbih which are used to make beautiful prayer rugs.

There is a saying that “there is a circle where there is no eye”. So, how can you use ordinary crystal  prayer beads to produce a decorative object like a namaz rug? The basic ingredient that you need for this task is namaz (prayer), scalar (meditation, Iblis), ewit (a silver needle), jambi (a square piece of wood) and a morayu (a thick cloth). These ingredients are combined together with wax or semi-wax to form a frame for a prayer bead.

Once you have all these ingredients, you can start making your own tasbih beads. Make sure you take a small amount of each dye first then dip all of the unused beads into the dye. You will be able to determine which color will suit the prayer beads best.

Once you are done, you will be left with the most important component–the morayu. This is the fabric that you will tie around the beads. For tasbih beads made from silver, brass or copper, you can leave this portion loose. If you use gemstones as tasbih beads, you should leave the loose Morayu exposed. This will allow you to easily make a clasp for your bracelet or necklace using an old area as a handle. It is customary to wear a prayer beads bracelet or necklace on the right hand if you are performing muslim rituals.

To complete your work, you should now wipe your hands with a clean towel so as not to disturb the dyes. Use a cleaner like dish soap so as to avoid any chemical reaction with perspiration. When you are done, dry the perspiration using a soft cotton cloth. Remember to wear a Muslim-friendly abaya and loose-fitting clothes so that you can easily clean and dry your hands.

How do you use Islamic prayer beads?

How do you use Islamic tasbeeh beads, then? You should make sure that all of the loose ends are wrapped into a piece of cloth before tying them. It is customary to tie them together using a gold or silver rope. This is because tasbih beads can easily get stuck in between the ropes and you will have no way of untying them in the future. As long as you follow the instructions carefully, tying the loose ends is not a difficult task.

Now, once you have tied all the loose ends, you should be ready to start working with your prayer beads. Firstly, select which strand you want to use. It is customary to use three strands – the thick one, the medium and thin strands. Then, you should put the prayer beads on the thick strand and then tie it using the small ringworm knot by wrapping the two ends around each other using your ringworm knot.

Once you are done, you can start winding the prayer beads. When learning how do you use Islamic beads, it is important that you start from the end you are tied and do this in a circular motion until you have completed the whole strand. It is also necessary to tie the loose ends because they may become tangled with each other. It is important that you do not forget to tie the loose ends because they might become tied around the beads and you will not be able to use them in the future. The final step is to wrap the tasbih beads with a silk scarf and you should leave it over night so that the knot does not form. Remember to dry the prayer beads and store them in a safe place so that they last for a longer time.
