Where will your hair be better taken care of – in a barbershop or in a barbershop? Fashionable and classic men’s haircuts performed by two schools. Many men are faced with the question of who to choose, who will cut your hair better. The choice is not so obvious, because going to a barbershop has pros and cons. We will try to describe the topic more precisely and specify the features of the barbershop, so that you can understand for yourself what this exotically called institution differs from the barbershop. Since the advent of beard fashion in Russia and all over the world, barbershops began to develop, which had a positive impact on the industry and the perception of a well-groomed guy. Therefore, many have wondered if it makes sense to change the hairstyle three to an undercut and visit a barbershop for this? Let’s figure it out together.
Barbershop or barbershop, which is better for us and our hair?
Barber knows how to cut a man’s hair. You probably like most men go to barbershops that are in the neighborhood. Many do, too. Most of the time they come out of those places with a disgusting haircut. Sometimes the hair looks decent for the first week or so, but then it grows into an ugly pot on your head.
The problem is that many of the people who work in such establishments are not trained barbershoppers. They are beauticians at best. The difference between them can mean the difference between a fancy haircut and a quality one. A barbershop will help you find a hairstyle based on your wishes and face shape.
Barbershoppers are trained in the craft with a clipper, the main tool for cutting a man’s hair. Cosmetologists, on the other hand, are trained to use scissors, which is more geared toward cutting women’s hair. They become experts at styling, coloring and perming – things men don’t need. That’s why when you ask your stylist to use the number 2 attachment on the machine, you walk away with a bad haircut. They probably don’t know much about how to use them. The barber, by contrast, wields the machine deftly and masterfully.
It’s a great place to spend time with other men.
When I went to barbers, I almost never talked to the woman who cut my hair. I used to talk about my family and listen about their family and that was it. The woman was usually talking to other women in the salon, and I sat there awkwardly.
Going to a barbershop is a father-son activity
Men need traditions that can help them bond. Going to the barbershop with your father or son is a great family tradition. Many men go to the same professional all their lives and take their sons there as well. Every time I go to the barbershop I feel more masculine. I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the combination of the smell of the hair products and the personalized atmosphere. But more than that, it’s the awareness of the traditionalism of the place. A barbershop is a place of continuity; they don’t change with changes in culture. The place and the craftsmen look just like they did when your father got his hair cut. There’s nothing superfluous, just great haircuts and interesting conversations.
There are so few places in today’s world where older and younger generations can spend time together. A barbershop, on the other hand, allows a father to pass on his son’s understanding of style and fellowship in male company
When you walk out of the barbershop with an updated haircut you feel a bit of masculine superiority fill your every move. So the next time you notice a familiar post with red and white stripes, stop by. You’ll be glad you didn’t pass by.
Going to a barbershop is a place to enjoy male company
Barbers, on the other hand, are interesting guys with curious stories. Going to a barbershop gave me the opportunity to meet a rock singer and the founder of his band. Also, a man who likes to take vacations and ride his personal bike on the roads of the country. Each of them had compelling stories to share. And I, in turn, feel free to say what’s on my mind. The conversation is about politics, cars, sports and family. The guys read the paper and comment on current events. In between banter, they tell jokes and laugh. And everyone is involved: the barbers, the customers getting their hair cut, and the customers waiting to get their hair cut. Adding to the fun is the variety of men involved in the conversation; young, old and middle-aged.
Hair – You’ll get a quality shave.
Many barbershops offer a traditional shave with a dangerous razor. You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced the pleasure of shaving with such a razor. Last weekend I went to a barbershop for a shave. I reclined in the padded leather chairs with ashtrays in the armrests. It was the moment when people could smoke in public places. Then the shaving began. First the master wrapped a hot towel around my face. Then he applied a lemon-based cream to cleanse my pores. After that, several more hot towels were applied. By then I was feeling nice and relaxed, on the verge of falling asleep. Then some cocoa butter was massaged in to soften my beard. And dabbed some warm foam into my beard, which smelled manly, not like the crappy artificial goo you usually buy at the store. Then the barber took a piece of razor-sharp metal and proceeded to shave my beard.
The pleasant interior of the establishment
The interior of the barbershop is inspired by and based on the culture and climate of the old days. Consequently, there is a lot of wood, dark colors and a harsh climate in this type of space. When it comes to music, more often than not there is quiet jazz, blues (like the best cafes) or rock music and American hits like “Sweet Home Alabama” or Elvis hits.
I was once lucky enough to see one of the World Cup matches taking place in Russia while I was sitting in a barbershop. I have to admit it was an overwhelming experience to watch the game in such company.
