If you’re about to spend two days in New Orleans, this is the perfect opportunity to experience one of the most interesting places in America. Although NOLA is a fantastic place to visit, the area is not to be missed, there are many great housing swap restaurants, bars, shops, and restaurants in the city, as well as some great hotels. This is a perfect place to live off the beaten track, avoid crowds, and experience a different side of its culture. After our second day in N Orleans, it was time to leave this city and go to the other side for a few days.
Around Jackson Square, there are museums, shops, and restaurants where you will find many things to do in New Orleans. You can visit some of the city’s famous cemeteries with housing swap and also take a look at some of the city’s most famous attractions, such as the French Quarter and the Mississippi River. If you’ve seen the incredible carnival floats this year, you should definitely consider visiting the “Carnival Grass of the World.”
The same company, New Orleans Secrets, also offers a guided Garden District Tour, which we will definitely take with us on our next trip to NOLA. They offer tours of the Garden District at 11 a.m. every day and the prices are very reasonable. It’s a great way to forget the first overview of New York City and the history of the city. This tour may seem like another cemetery tour, but it delves deep into the history of New Orleans and its history, as well as its cuisine. During the four-hour hike, you will learn about the ingredients of Creole and Cajun cuisine and how they tell the story of New York. We tried everything from muffuletta to gumbo to bum – boy, and we loved everything.
Similar to Cafe Amelie in Commander’s Palace, Antoine’s is a great place for those who want to experience classic New Orleans cuisine in a great location. With access to some of the most famous restaurants in New York City, Cafe Beignet is also very popular and worth a visit.
Although New Orleans cemeteries are unique and exotic to most visitors to New York City, the city is also a city in its own right. St. Louis Cemetery # 1 is the oldest of all in New Orleans and can only be entered with a licensed guide. The guide takes you through a handful of locations in the French Quarter, including the incredibly creepy LaLaurie House, and tells you about the fires, plagues, and murders that have marked New Orleans.
If three days in New Orleans is enough to whet your appetite, it will want to leave you behind, but let’s face it, you could definitely spend more. If you can only spend a limited amount of time in NOLA and the Garden District is beautiful, don’t be afraid, because you’ll get to experience much of what it has to offer in three days – full-day passes. Even if you spend the first day in the French Quarter, one of the city’s main attractions, there are many great restaurants, bars, shops, and restaurants to choose from. Two days in New York City will be enough for me, while a three-day trip will definitely leave me with enough memories to return to, even if I spend them in one city.
To make the most of your New Orleans route and not waste much time traveling from place to place, I recommend staying within walking distance of the French Quarter. If you have less than 2 days to spend, here is a list of some great ways to see New York City and the Garden District in one day. Don’t feel bad if you can’t do all of this in one trip. There are many places to explore in New Jersey, Florida, California, Texas, and even Australia.
Bourbon Street maybe for tourists, but Frenchmen Street is the place to experience real New Orleans like a local. The French Quarter is a top tourist attraction and there is even a walk through the city’s most popular restaurants and bars. Note: This is one of my favorite walks through New York City and the Garden District in one day.
I can’t stress enough that Whitney Plantation is one of the most beautiful places in New Orleans to be hoped for. I can’t tell you enough about this place to enjoy Gumbo in New Orleans, but it’s definitely worth a visit.
